They need less of these dumb streaming publicity stunts and more actual work on their fucking games.

Nope. Blue jeans + brown boots is a very masculine combo, and one of the best ways to make a man with thick thighs look sexy. Tim is one of those guys; I think he should show off his legs more often in interviews, since his taste in legwear is much better than his taste in shirts.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
:necro:

So apparently Frederator Studios are teaming up with Double Fine Productions to make an 11-minute cartoon based on Costume Quest.

How many hours did it take people to complete Costume Quest? 3? 4?

Now it can be summed up in a 10-minute cartoon! YAY!

Double Fine regains Iron Brigade publishing rights, PC version now 80% off
Games for Windows Live ditched, Steam Matchmaking added.

Brütal Legend and Broken Age developer Double Fine has regained the ability to self-publish its tower defense IP Iron Brigade.

Released on Xbox 360 in 2011, a PC version of Iron Brigade soon followed that used Games for Windows Live.

Iron Brigade was originally published by Microsoft Studios and never appeared on rival consoles. Now, Double Fine has regained publishing rights and is updating the game's Steam version.

This edition will now sport a fresh multiplayer system that utilises Steam Matchmaking. A round of bug fixes and improvements will also be included.

If you're interested, the game is currently 80 per cent off - just £2.19 - to celebrate.

Iron Brigade is set in an alternate past where steampunk mechs were developed during World War 1. Gameplay mixes third-person shooting and tower defense tactics as you defeat waves of robotic enemies.

"The great thing about this change is that now there are no obstacles to us creating the best possible experience for players," creator Brad Muir explained.

"We have fixed all known issues as well as provided a great matchmaking experience for multiplayer. Vlad and his Monovision Menace are on the move again! In the best possible way!"

Massive Chalice looks pretty good in an X-Com-lite kind of way. Funny how a more complex game will probably turn out better than Broken Age, despite it getting much less money on KS.

christ.. I thought Massive Chalice was already released, sales must really suck because DF giving away MC on release day sounds desperate. Probably MS dropped a few crumbs their way and they lapped it up, absolutely hilarious!!

Gave Iron Brigade a try since I got it in some Amazon bundle a few years ago. Much like DF's other games it's mostly style over gameply (which is fairly mediocre). You're better off playing Orcs Must Die 2.

This is why Tim needed your money for broken age

So he can go back into the game and now is getting paid by the evuul publisherz Sony making a 'gummi bears/michael bay' cross-over game.

Seems he don't mind getting paid by Sony making shitty games.

Here's the thing.
This guy has a SHIT reputation in the industry as far as I've seen.
Why does ANYONE want to work with him?
Didn't bobby Kotick pretty much explain everything fairly well in an interview about two years back regarding Double Fine?
They were consistently late, poor excuses, wasting money, and the product was not up to snuff, so Kotick terminated the contract.

He is the dark lord of Indie gaming. Everything that is wrong about that scene wrapped into a single individual. I still can't wrap my brain around the fact this is the guy who did Grim Fandango. Maybe he took all the credit while someone else was doing all the work.

Funny that you should say that. Grim Fandango is great, despite enormous amounts of sloppily cut/rushed content, presumably as a result of bad project management. So in that sense, it very much is a Tim Schafer game.

Yeah but Kotick has an even shittier reputation.

Not that he was wrong about Shaffer's abysmal management skills.

As for Shaffer's awesome lucasarts adventures, it's obvious that a talented writer/designer doesn't make a good game studio manager. In fact such a guy usually needs a good producer over his head, in order to make a good game.

You know, it sounds like such a good idea to let the inmates run the insane asylums, and it really isn’t. [...] We all felt like we were talented, creative guys with big ideas, and if the big bad publishers would just get out of the way we can do amazing things. It just doesn’t work out that way. Real creativity happens within constraints, not without constraints.
