Runs slow as hell for me and even crashed my server last night. There is often a long delay particularly when you are responding to posts you are quoting. You can't see the words you are typing in real time.

Is it maybe a gd filter on the fritz?

Most likely. I am sincerely sorry for the false alarm but I actually just did a system overhaul so it was likely an update deficiency.
