The Orders will live on forever, visible or non. We will not unravel before this adversity, brothers.

The numbers were removed, much like the usernames were. They were allowing too much individuality.

The order will be dismantled and people attaching too much identity to the date will be...removed. And this will go until we become unified under one hivemind, as it should be.

Individuality is selfishness, comrade.

Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendent, and to embrace them is to achieve enlightenment.

Why are SMAC names and quotes so cool? As soon as I read one I can see the SMAC interface + map in front of me and hear the sound effects.

The lore and quotes were integrated into the gameplay through technology research, that's probably one big reason why you can easily hear the music and sounds associated with them. The bigger reason would be that the quotes are just damn cool.

And hey, I'm sure some of you individuals are upset about the recent changes, but just be glad we didn't create the Secret Project, "The Self-Aware Forum."

I copied the quote from wikiquote, and I got sucked into reading them for about 10 minutes.

I can even hear the goddamn voice-actor and I haven't touched this baby in forever. Memorable games are wonderful. (There's lots of memorable console games, by the way- you guys are missing out a bit! But if you don't like the way they play it's really understandable.)

Hey guys, got a weird problem, I see childish images and nerdish names above the join dates. Any ideas on how to fix this?
