None of the roguelikes. I lack the patience, I think.

Wagamama plays a mean techies. Who else could carry a team below 1.5-2k of their mmr with a hero like that? He marathoned Techies for the first two days when they came out and won almost every game, not counting the ones where his team started feeding couriers because of the pick.

    HOMM 2 vs HOMM 3

Yeah, there are a LOT of rules. I can't find a link in English, unfortunately, as the community is predominantly Russian-speaking - though there is one very notable Dutch player. Matches are also played on fixed random 'seeds' (that is, the ones considered to be the most balanced). Due to...

    HOMM 2 vs HOMM 3

HoMM3. It's still played competitively to this day (as well as being the only competitive TB game that I find fun to watch)! Some of the things these guys manage to pull of are amazing. I also highly recommend checking out the "Horn of the Abyss", if you haven't already. The pirate-theme...

    Gothic 1

I remember my own foray into the temple was a complete nightmare. Game-breaking bugs, CTDs, performance issues, you name it. I cheated my way past the last half of it, eventually. Nothing much happens at the end, plot wise. There's one half-assed 'boss fight' (yeah... no.), a short cinematic of...

Masters of the Broken World (Eador 2)

Why would you play it in butt-ugly 3d over charming 2d sprites?

    Sword Coast Stratagems BG1

I didn't like it. BG1 was a mediocre game except for the freedom of exploration and this mod just made it feel a lot longer than what it should have been. Once you figured out how to deal with something it just kept throwing the same thing at you over, over and over again. BG2 (non-ToB) was...

I heard it was pretty mediocre. Any opinions to the contrary?

This doesn't really apply to ranked games in 4.5-5.5k+ range, in my experience. 1 out of 10 games you'll get a troll or a hard thrower, perhaps. A really horrible player who bought his account. However, there's actually a *lower* likelihood of that person ending up on your team - 4 vs. 5 (since...

Look at it this way. If you played tennis paired up with your (hypothetical) little sister against your friend and his sister, would you still get angry at the little kid for making a lot of mistakes and having to 'carry the game' on your shoulders (I play paired tennis with weaker partners a...

What do you mean by 'pure skill'? DotA is a team game so being good at it does involve not sabotaging your own allies by telling them how fucking bad you think they are. It's not some convoluted 'metagame', I think - just being a decent human being. Even so, a lot of times there is little need...

I don't think that's true. There are a LOT of bad-mannered, high-rated players (famous examples: ppd, moon, arteezy, fear, envy in the 'kwan; dendi, alwayswannafly in CIS etc.). Try playing in a high-ranked league, you'll get flamed to oblivion and probably kicked out for the slightest mistake...
