    That's a bit harsh since it also includes a lot of indie "late-comers". I for one am thankful for the sudden rise in Indie games over the past couple of years. There's a lot more gold there than there has been for years in the AAA industry.

    No, games are not turning into a art form. Definitely not. It's still trying to figure out what the fuck it wants to be. With some of these titles I wonder if I am watching a movie or supposed to play a game. I might get flamed for this here but I have gotten so tired of listening (or reading)...

    I agree. But it doesn't need to be. The problem might be a matter of Game Maturity. Most games haven't grown up with the people that played them. Let's say you were 16 years old in 1990. Today you are 38. How many games can you name that has filled that void in your more 'gown up' sensibilities...
