Leftists don't care about Tibet IME, at least not anymore. In the US IIRC, it is actually mostly Republicans who have drawn attention to Tibet. Leftists support Palestine because they are anti-Israel.

And anyway the Tibetan movement in Tibet itself is much more peaceful than the Arabs. Tibetans burn themselves, don't hurt others.
