A technical question.

I have a very poor performance on a computer that I tried playing AoD on.

The computer is:
Pentium 4 3ghz
752mb RAM
Radeon X1300/X1500

Is it to weak to play it or are there some settings that I need to set to be able to play it? I had the combat demo working better on a much older computer.

Well what settings did you enable in options in the first place?
Take out all the usual culprits.

:?

are you kidding?

oh... whatever... in order of importance

SSAO
HDR
Antialiasing
Anisotropic

then,

texture quality
shaders
lightning
resolution

and turn antialiasing and anisotropic filtering OFF in graphic card driver options.
And turn off all other suspicious shit in it too. Anything with attributes like "super", "mega" or triple or ... just set it to performance.

You dont have to do everything at once, start from the top four and see what works best.

BUY MORE RAM!!!

Heh, the game runs like shit on my rig under W7 too. 3Ghz quad (Phenom), 8Gb of RAM, HD4850. The Crysis of indie RPGs. Disable HDR and SSAO.
