Well I've been keen on Dragon age for a while now, so I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 2 as well. I guess it will be a while before the codex hate so utterly infuses my soul that I can never again derive entertainment and amusement from a game not atleast a decade or so old. I wonder how long it will take.

Well, Jack Wall is pretty awesome.

I actually like some of Zur's stuff. His IWDII score was decent, if not as memorable as Soule's work on the first game. His work on TOB was sort of fun too, in an old-school high adventure kind of way. He also did a couple of decent tracks for Fallout 3, which were, unfortunately, saddled with a bunch of crap music and put into a lousy game.

Haven't played DA yet. Probably won't for a while. After KoTOR I instituted a policy of waiting for significant price drops. I think I can tolerate the crappy parts better when I haven't payed full retail for the game. Still nice to see that there are some Codex regulars who aren't finding it completely reprehensible.

Don't be a retard. Codex hates bad old games. Codex hates bad new games. It is a sad fact that more better RPG's were made during hte 90's than the 2000's.

What soundtrack? I've played DA for a while and barely noticed the music. Well, beyond the fact that it's obnoxiously loud on default settings compared to the volume of everything else, anyway. The combat theme irritates.

I have the CE which has the whole soundtrack on CD.

It's nothing special, all songs are the bland heavy chorus epic sounding tunes. Maybe it will grow on me but I find all the songs rather boring.

Why do all the vocals always have to be choir chants? I guess that makes it sound epic.

It's no Divine Divinity soundtrack that is for sure.

Suddenly everyone here likes everything about Mass Effect.
I know, right? At first it was just a shit soap opera in SPACE.
Then it was "good for what it is".

Turning 180 degrees isn't something you do every day.
At least one would hope you don't.

How can someone turn 180 degrees on something that they couldn't have a valid judgement on until last Tuesday?

Fucking combat music can suck my ass

Seriously. I turned the music off after I heard a xylaphone during the first Ogre battle. I was thinking the whole encounter would culminate with a secret homosexual romance unlock.

Don't be a retard. They have shown so much of the game that you could easily form an semi-educated opinion weeks ago.
