(according to Mobygames, an addon to Serpent Isle was the first Ultima not self-published by Origin, so my point stands)

MMOFPSs are simply the next logical step in Bioware's development. They kinda brought it upon themselves.

multiplayer games are easy to do, just throw a bunch of people into an arena and you're done, that's why they're trying to convince the people that multiplayer it's the future.
pathetic.

I actually liked Ultima 8

I mean, sure, it was a butchered mess that got released, but a few of these butchered pieces (specially the magic system) hinted at such a great game. I guess it being my first CRPG doesn't help either.

It's OK, I kind of liked it to, but not as an Ultima game. Sort of like a weirdo bizzaro Ultima, which I guess was sort of the point of the game.

UnderWorld 2 and Serpent Isle (not just the silver seed) were both published in EA boxes. Not that I'm asssigning EA any credit for them obviously.

And those boxes were cheap and flmsy compared to Origins :(

EA is pretty bad at observation outside of "sport games = profit"
