Hi All,

Sorry for the long delay. I moved to a new house. Still living out of boxes. ;)

Goldchest 0.2 is ready
You can download from here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/goldchest/

You need to install Java and Java3d for this game to work.
Java : http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html
Java3d : https://java3d.dev.java.net/#Downloads

In this milestone I covered most of the game economy.
Most shops and guilds are now in place. You can find and interact with them.
For now new characters are created with 1,000,000 XP and bunch of gems and jewels so you can experiment with the
various places and see how things will work.

Shops - (Armory, Blacksmith, Taylor, General store) Buy, sell, repair and identity items. Though identify doesn't do much right now.
Guilds - Thief, Fighter and Mage guilds are available for specific skills to train for those professions.
Temple - Healing, and they are the guilds for the clerics.
Jeweler - Buy and Appraise Gems and Jewels.
Tavern - Gossip (not much here yet).
Inn - Rest (not much here yet).
Bank - Deposit money/items, borrow money and withdraw money/items

The bank allows you to borrow money. For now the game will add 10%. In the future I will add other penalties for
a player carrying debt. Currently the bank deposit box allows you hold 10 items. Although the game can have
multiple banks - each with it's own deposit box. Borrowed money information is shared by all banks. Note banks will
also charge you 1 gold every time you deposit items.

I also think I have settled on how levels will work. I decided that they will work the same as other abilities that you need to train for. So I have levels 1-20 for fighter, mage, cleric and thief. Characters can learn a max of 20 of these abilities. But you are allowed to mix and match.

Some of the places in the town:
Fighter guild - 13,3
Thief guild - 4,4
Mage guild - 13,15
Bank - 12,0
Jeweler - 15,1
General store - 15,3
Inn - 15,5 - 8,0
Tavern - 10,0
Armory - 13,11
Temple - 6,12
Blacksmith - 8,15

Thanks everyone! Let me know what you think.

I downloaded all this and installed the java apps. When I click the jar file it loads the splash screen, creates a game.txt file and quits.

BTW i am running Win7.
