As everyone should know by now, BioWare ain't doing so well, both as company and as a brand.
Here's a good summary: http://www.gamefront.com/the-history-of-bioware-infographic/
Especially lately it has intensified, with the disappointing Sales of Dragon Age 2 and the generally bad reception.
With the Backlash over Mass Effect 3 and the huge commercial failure that Star Wars: The Old Republic turned out to be for EA.
EA seems to be finally losing patience with the studio and confidence in the brand.
Not only did they get rid of the two original founders: http://www.rpgcodex.net/article.php?id=8447 but over the last few months they have rebranded former "BioWare" studios back to their Original names.
For instance, "BioWare Ireland" doesn't exist anymore and was repurposed for general EA use: http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/0...rt-center-for-swtor-converting-to-general-ea/
"BioWare Victory", who were just recently named that are according to Wikipedia and the Command & Conquer page back to "Victory Games":
"BioWare Mythic" was also recently rebranded to just Mythic: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/11/08/ea-bioware-mythic-moon-unit-now-just-mythic/
From the glorious BioWare empire now only remains, as their careers page also says: http://www.bioware.com/careers
BioWare Edmonton
BioWare Montreal
BioWare Austin and
BioWare San Francisco (formerly EA 2D)
And we know that BioWare Austin had to shed at least ~200 people back in May: http://twitter.com/georgeb3dr/status/205007250765520898
Even more recently, with some of the higher-ups also leaving the sinking ship all by themselves: http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/10/03/daniel-erickson-leaves-bioware/
What will it take to finally bury them entirely and how long will it take?
