I propose reducing the number of posts/page on Playground

Should the posts per page on the Playground be reduced?

In the LP's I read there's always this need of a "bump" so we don't get a billion images in the same page. I myself am doing one, and it's a pain in the arse.

I propose reducing the number of posts per page from 25 to 15 in the playground.

I propose we start a fund raiser to get this idea implemented.
$100 USD and the we lower posts per page to 20.
$200 USD and we lower it to 15.

For $500 every post would have it's own page.

It would be great if every post the original LP author designates as an LP update could somehow be automatically created as the first post on a new page (with everything in between being as it is right now), but that's probably not technologically feasible.

Actually it's pretty easy. The posts per page is a forum-wide setting but easily enough to code in a tweak...

Which is done. Dropped it down to 15.

Hmm I was wondering where all those new pages in the LP threads came from, going from 2x to 40+ overnight, thought there had been some massive updating. Guess this explains it.

You may get a lot of affection spekkio, but I, for one, tend to get a lot fewer bumps. So this is a major :incline: in my book, at least as far as my own little LP is concerned.

There's a bug in this. When displaying all the posts using "View posts since last visit" the threads in the Codex Playground will have the same pages as if they were using the same number of posts/page as in the rest of the forum, but when you choose to go to one of the pages, it will display the page using the Codex Playground setting, meaning that you can't access the latest page of a thread using the "View posts since last visit" option.

You can, you just have to click the little
icon_latest_reply.gif
icon under the "last post" column, as opposed to clicking the page numbers in the topics column.

That leads to the last unread post, not to the last page (or any of the other "invisible" pages). It's not really a problem for me as I usually use that button, but I thought I should let you know of it.
