Grunker you ignored over 90% of what i said which rips wotc games a hole :), also your come back with gurps is plain wrong and sorry wotc games titled with DND suck and it shows.

Its easy, your post was dumb.

Mechanic-wise 3rd Ed (and even 3.5) D&D is better that 2nd Ed AD&D that is a confusing mess, especially if you have access to supplements and its full of broken.

Not that 3rd Ed D&D was not without its flaws (and even more 3.5 that continued with some breaking, not I can speak since I never played outside NwN2 that hardly qualifies) but 2nd Ed AD&D?

Also dont give me that crap about it being a "smarter" system, you have THAC0 that worked THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF EVERY OTHER MECHANICS IN THE GAME! Besides dont give me that crap about encounters ... 3rd Ed was a breeze as we had tables AND customization options so the "extinction" syndrome (were the world run out of Goblins because the player outclass them and they no longer presented a threat) did not had to happen, it was a wonderful system.

Shitty documentation does not make a system smarter, 3rd D&D did throw away a lot of things (like THAC0) but at least made a solid foundation system that was wonderfully modular ... too bad Hasbro had to fuck it up.

3rd edition is only better than the previous editions in theory, not in actual play.

Don't miss a chance to play Pool of Radiance without PC, get FRC1 Ruins of Adventure.

Oh wai-, it's 1ed yet.

Really?

I was going to suggest Ruins of Adventure myself.

Still, how hard is it to just use the material in whatever ruleset you play with? It isn't rocket science.

If you like less railroady modules, try the Kingmaker AP made by Pathfinder for the Pathfinder RPG (essentially D&D 3.75).
