Wow, this perk is dangerous to have. Ive blown myself up quite a bit with it; anyone know if the explosion from it is affected by the demolitions perks that raise explosion damage or the one that reduces your damage taken from explosions?

yes thats true, but i was interested in the specific mechanics of the perks.
that one is a perk that reduces damage to limbs from all sources, while the perk i am asking about reduces it only from 'explosive' sources.
Also good to know if it is affected by the dmg increasing/radius increasing perks for explosives; if it is then it would be incredably powerful (and dangerous to yourself).

Meltdown doesn't make any sense, and it is also crap.

How the hell does death by laser cause a "corona" which looks like a plasma explosion? It might have made some sense if it was restricted to Plasma weapons, but it'd still be a very crummy "perk".

yea, it probably should have been restricted to plasma because of the explosion effect they gave it. Or they could make 3 explosion types for it - one for gauss one for plasma and one for laser.

though i dont see why you believe it to be crap, using it to sneak attack a group of people yields a dead group of people unless theyre heavily armored.

It's crap because it will hit everybody, which leads to a lot of amusing friendly fire incidents.

"ARCADE HAS DIED!"

It's crap because it doesn't make any sense.

It's not that good against groups of enemies, and the explosion grows to be very annoying after 20+ hours as a energy weapon specialist.

Yeah, some of the things that are in vanilla NV should be transferred to Wild Wasteland trait.

Its amusing but making it a perk is about the dumbest thing you could do. Make it an ammo type or something. Its practically suicide to use if you, your allies or the enemies are melee. Needs some form of selective fire.

I really wish I hadn't gotten it after I overwrote my old save without it. Killed the fuck out of my npcs and had to reload until I got the perk that causes less friendly fire. And then I still hurt the shit out of myself.

Yeah, I am never again using that thing... To think I actually thought it would prove to be a great asset for the energy weapon type of character.

Oh well, there's always Laser Commander.
