Most people don't visit those section. And because most don't, the other half doesn't either. If a thread about MMOG would be in General RPG, it's obvious that it would have more views and responses.

Merge Dark Individual, Cloaked Figure and Zerotol. Most people don't read their posts. And because most don't, the other half doesn't either. If a thread by one of them became a thread by all of them, it's obvious that it would be more easily ignored.

There's a perfectly valid reason not to do so.

Anybody just trying to discuss MMOs in General RPG stands the risk of being spammed by obnoxious posers telling them that MMOs shouldn't be discussed in a RPG forum.

And discussing RPG Design often involves long painstakingly written posts about RPG design which need to articulated clearly, and there are only a handful of posters who have the patience for it - namely Joe Krow, sheek, Crichton, mondblut, and a few select others. These threads would not last a second in General RPG anyway.

Actually, about the first part, I doubt Codexers are that obnoxious to shoot down a MMO just for being a MMO, but it does stand that in other forums, there are always the butthurt singleplayer fans who blame MMOs for all that is wrong in gaming.

I think it works fine the way it is. The lulzers don't bother with RPG Design and derail threads that are usually a bit slow and deliberate. Better discussion that way, since it usually is discussion with a purpose.

And nobody cares about MMOs so, out of sight out of mind is probably a good palce for them. :D
