I certainly hope you didn't buy Oblivion.
I mean after giving a game a 2 I doubt I'd pick up it's sequel (and you did).

But how you can rate NWN a 9 and MW a 2 is baffling.
Morrowind wasn't THAT bad and NWN wasn't THAT good, lol.

If you're factoring online multiplayer then fine but the single player was one of the dullest games I've ever played and there was NOTHING appealing (unlike MW which had amazing atmosphere & art design and a vast amount of lore, most of which was pretty interesting if you took the time to read some of the books).

ANd I'm pretty sure this is mostly from reading about it - seriously how many of us actually got to play it?

So you're talking about memorable in terms of something that made a huge splash historically as far as being newsworthy not in terms of actually having played it.

No one talks about how bad ET was on forums, lol. You only read about it when some magazine or site does a feature on the history of gaming and never fails to mention the "crash of 83" (I didn't play the game either but at least I was around to witness its release first hand and in my huge circle of gamer friends at the time - I was in middle school - not one person bought ET or had in mind to, lol).

But many still talk of Fallout because it was/is a great game, not because some one wrote about it but because many have played it over the years.

When did I say he couldn't?

I said I understand if he rated it highly because of it - but we're talking of single player experience (most of us are anyway) so I would assume he is referring to the original campaign which sucked.

The online part of the game was great as was some of the user made content. But the single player campaign was terrible.

I used to have a top 9 RPG list until a few days ago, when I started playing Prelude to Darkness. Now I am finally able to count 10 RPGs that I like.
