Tried running this game, gives me a grey screen and crashes to desktop.

I tried compatibility modes and downloading atioglxx.dll and putting it in the game folder, no dice.

Anybody knows how to make this run?

Also, in before Jaesun moves it to General Gaming.

Have You tried installing the unofficial patch? I don't remember having any problems with Anachronox at all in XP, but I installed all patches before even trying to play it.

I could run it on both 32bit XP and now on 64bit 7, but I tend to move files around rather than reinstalling stuff whenever possible* in windows, so I can't really remember how I got it to run. The only drawback is that it defaults to low res no matter what I do in 7.

*) Whenever I can get something to work without it shitting all over mah registry. Also preferable if the game is excessively modded or patched, doubly so if you need to do such stuff in sequence.

if that fails, rename the anox.exe to quake3.exe or q3.exe. it works, believe me.

Renaming it to quake3.exe made it work.

I already had the unnoficial patches.

Thanks everyone.

What's so weird about it - it probably uses compatibility options for Quake 3, stored in drivers...

I thought Anachronox ran on a modified Quake 2 engine...

*murders joke*
