That piece of shit did well enough to warrant a sequel? Their hated DMC reboot is a fucking masterpiece compared to this.

DmC got multiple releases. They managed to clean it up into a respectable game but it needed another name not to be hated.

I knew that animation reminded me of something!

Why would you make these plans public? (Greenberg is VP of Xbox Games Marketing)

Whoever posted that knows it's not the time to advertise, but they had to do it anyways.

Senua's Psychosis Feature (23 minute documentary)
Find out how Senua’s experiences of psychosis in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II are rooted in both neuroscience and real lived experience in this special feature video. Hear from the Ninja Theory team, Paul Fletcher, Bernard Wolfe Professor of Health Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, and Peer Support Workers from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.

When David Jaffe roasts your game for being too pretentious you know you must have fucked up somewhere.

A game about the Celtic underworld: Cool
A game about the Norse underworld: Cool
A game about some schizo woman: Not cool

This really isn't rocket science but here we are

The game already had minimal marketing and now Fromsoftware will drop a new trailer for the Elden Ring DLC in an hour.   This game will be completely buried before even the end of the day.

Hellblade 2 is truly magnificent, superbly produced, it offers a distressing atmosphere as possible, extremely careful and rarely has the sound design of a game been so impressive. In addition, Melina Juergens' performance is particularly notable and we want to follow Senua's journey. The problem is that overall it's quite boring: the fault of the repetitive puzzles and the long and completely useless fights which weigh down the whole thing. It's sad.

8h long game released after 7 years of development (!) and they still have the audacity to include puzzles? WTF. I have free Game Pass for 2 months, but this doesn't inspire confidence.

The puzzles in the last game were horrible.

What did I write about the puzzles in my review? Oh yeah.

Hellblade has puzzles, but they are of the "Where's Waldo?" variety. Runes start appearing once you are in the general vicinity of the pattern you have to focus on. Easy. I know that the game is supposed to be about the mind (Hah!) and that some people pay more attention to patterns in their world (I used to obsess over that stuff when I was a kid.), but it shows a lack of thought. What I mean is that they designed the level, then put the patterns in after. They could have been placed anywhere. Why would you give them high scores for skipping the work, which would be designing the level as a puzzle? Remember that scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Indy takes the leap of faith and then the camera turns to reveal he is walking on a kind of optical illusion? There is some of that in here too. You have to look at the illusion from the right angle for bridges to solidify. It's a little cleverer than the "Where's Waldo?" stuff.

I'm watching some videos of this game, it's baffling how developers work on high quality assets for years, then decide to take a huge dump on them by forcing black bars, strong chromatic aberration, motion blur, film grain, dirty camera effect etc. If graphics are the only thing you have to show, then at least let it shine. Idiotic trend. What's worse, there are even isometric games that do this (namely, both Pathfinders).

Clearly they wanted users to play with a wider TV that maintains the image height. Oh wait, ultra wide TVs are not made anymore. Guess you're supposed to play with a projector. Oh wait, they engineered their sound for headphones (binaural recording) and made the surround for speakers sound like shit (and few people sit in front of a projection screen with headphones).

Being sarcastic. Know it's confused film envy and a dumb way to improve performance.

I tried playing the first game with a mod that opened the letterboxed picture up, but it created a fisheye effect because of where she stands and how the camera is anchored.
