The shit Bhestheda engine they used for this game is so incredibly ugly this is the first time i'm actually thinking a remaster could improve things. Can't get any worse than total shit, can't it?

It's kind of hilarious how so many of our former idols are beyond redemption now. Identity politics are destroying everything in their wake.
Developers get old and dry up creatively. People aren't shocked when the teen bands they grew up with take a turn for the worse and stop being good at doing music or retire while they are ahead, but when it comes to video game developers there are droves of people that still perk up and pay attention to the horrible things they put out when it was clear from the start they were past their expiry date. What does any of this have to do with identity politics anyway? Isn't Outer Worlds an example of anti-identity if you think about it? It was made by a company under one of the biggest global corporations on the planet and everyone is brown, white, yellow and every shade under the sun, all the possible demographics of the game being shoved in there somewhere. Everyone being the ideal corporate labor that can be moved around to any place, and have no loyalty to anything besides capital. The bland soulless game reflecting the company that made it. That's the end of identity, a game for the global consumer who is some indistinguishable shade of brown and likes Rick and Morty, by the global software developer whose cultural ties begin and end at whatever is playable on streaming services.

If they can make an already ugly and dated game like The Outer Worlds look even more horrible and run terribly within the span of a few years then imagine what they can achieve with New Vegas when it released in 2010.

Tim and Leonard put their approval stamps on this. You seem to be using some type of new-age logic where forced diversity = anti-identity politics, but well, there's no diversity in the pic above. The women in this game are all equally hideous.

When you go against cultural norms without any of your own to replace them with, you end up with an anti-identity and an anti-culture, defined by what they are not. The corporate corrosive ideology is against cultural beauty standards, to which identity strongly relates, and this is what they push against that with this. You will note that these women are universally unattractive and this is what they want you to accept. What you are doing here is imposing standards stemming from a cultural and historical identity, specificity, which impedes the global market. Being against identity is necessarily generic, bland and interchangeable, often and almost always ugly too.

The men are ugly in the game too you know, and they don't look much different from the women. So you could say that the very identity of gender itself is being attacked with that. You could say the same thing about the international corporate art style, or their architecture and any other part of it.

You point your finger at identity, but there is no identity present in that image.

I’d rather see them make their own Fallout game. Just give them control over some low budget isometric turn based Fallout game and see how it works out. Would be interesting to see them take what they did on The Temple of Elemental Evi with combat and do that with Fallout.

The Fallout name is so big now I don’t think a isometric turn based Fallout would even kind of be a gamble either. Could probably sell just as many copies of that as The Outer Worlds.

Ugly people are an assault on the eyes regardless of your sexual orientation.
Do you still think too much identity is the problem rather than too little of it? Even the shallows of gay culture, which is an identity, allows you to have ideals and standards of beauty. Now if identity politics is the issue here, which you did claim it to be and maybe still think is, then which identity do you see here being imposed and causing everyone to look like this? Do they adhere to traditional European beauty standards and values? Clearly not. Do they then represent another identity replacing that in America? These faces would not be considered attractive to people with any middle-eastern identity, certainly not Asian identities. African identity groups? No way they would look at this and think it fitting with or appealing to their identity. Sexual or gender identities? Nope, it's not made to appeal to female beauty standards nor the "male gaze".

The men look like ugly women, the women like ugly boys because it is anti-identity. They look like some racial mixed people without any cultural signifiers because it is anti-identity. And it is what people who complain about identity politics seem to desire and aspire to.

We should remake Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, they've aged like milk.
