For a good start Lazor Tank spots three Cyberdisc. Psi

Lazor Tank shots middle one Cyberdisc. Respond is very brutal, about six shots from two of them. Lazor Tank scores one, but also dies from another reaction fire chain.

Poor terrain. End of turn, two civilians go to heaven. One Sectoid blow himself up (screenshot made after Aliens turn), probably tried to throw Grenade somewhere close to SV.

So far so good, we lost only Lazor Tank and I have some high hope we won't have casualties, if we stick to some cover. Also it seems the Psi Sectoid is dead.

Luzur with his last shot kills Cyberdisc. FUCK YEAH, AT LAST, it felt like eternity. Time to end this horrible turn. Some civilian dies, but honestly I don't give a fuck today.

We have serious PLOTWIZT here, this Sectoid is alive and ITZ (maybe) THE PSI-LEADOR. He tries to overtake SV, but fails. spiekko will leave him alone and we send Ashery with stun-rod to catch him. Before end of turn SV throw his weapon on ground and hide somewhere in corner, for our own sake. It was proper choice since Psi-Sectoid succeed in mind controlling SV. He did also scare shit out from Ashery.

This is the moment when my inner, most primitive greed takes over. Overweight Manatee will go instead of Ashery to catch Psi-Leader, Silellak takes another Stun-rod to make some simple pleasures to Ashery. WRONG decission, I forgot that we cannot use Stun-rods on soldiers. So if Ashery will be mind controlled, we will loose about two of Codexers. End of turn and let's all pray together.

No one died sigh. Overweight Manatee makes a step forward and spots three Sectoids. HOW MANY OF THEM IS LEFT? I ask. Sectoid with Small Launcher made reaction fire, and stunt our target :smug:

Now I'm going to update Xcomutil since the one I'm using has some serious Research bug, mentioned by Overweight Manatee. Maybe there will be another update today.

The newest beta built of Xcomutil 9.7 (317) has broken runxcom.bat, it loops all the time "Illegal command: start".

Yeah I know. Currently when I'm updating Xcomutil, I do it on a clean UFO 1.4 and copy saved game, before running xcusetup. Works fine so far.

Btw. I just switched to previous build (305) of Xcomutil and it works fine. From now on we will have UFO randomised interiors but not shapes. Somehow I don't feel to run around in Battleship size UFO after 2-3 aliens, heh.

So no-one got a rank increase? Did my soldier managed to accomplish something, or did you completed that mission with only the handful of redshirts you mention?

Depressed Codexia soldiers after loosing two comrades, (nevar forget) are going back to base. We already have one UFO shot-down, waiting for recover but times shows if we are going be able to get there on time.

This is current Skyranger-1 squad. Big Nose George will be ready to kick ass in 1 day, Krraloth in 3 days and our regular nersury occupant, SV after lucky 13 days.

Not much happens, I placed Satori by the brick parapet to cover UFO entrance, Overweight Manatee by the corner and lightbane on right side of the door with set up reaction fire, if something will crawl out. Luzur make a hole in parapet so BUMFACE could stand fron to the UFO door.It takes few turns during which again, nothing happens.

lightbane is a lucky bastard and survives plus manages to kill two aliens with auto-shots. Only two Floaters had reaction fire, but missed all the time. When lightbane was going out he got shot in the back once, but as we can see lives!

Since we been moved to tears by welcoming committee, BUMFACE sends a present from X-Com, a large rocket. Floaters were dying from happiness.

Nothing interesting happens on Geoscape so let's go straight to the second mission. taplonaplo didn't get Personal Armour, because in my squad any rookie will have to prove is worthy wearing Codexia armor. Btw. it's a night mission.

I have to try this game, but I got the windows version and the mouse pointer stutters really bad sometimes. How does the strategic element works? In most games I tend to focus on troops -> research -> equipment buildings.

If you want to use Win version badly, try outUFO Extender or the DOS version. Most of the time you focus on combat, since research basically goes on it's own.

Here's one reason why TFTD tends to be a little wee bit less racist sometimes :lol:

In TFTD, it's almost guaranteed when assaulting bases that you can see up to 6 hostiles at once in the main building. But they never line up so nicely like this. :)
