Part 11: I see (un)dead people. (Ending 2)
Quick reminder: Code'Xia had found Orbakh, the leader of the Night Masks (aka The Faceless). As it turns out, he's a vampire lord and offered Code'Xia the opportunity of joining him.
In the previous update, Code'Xia refused, which led to several plot twists and an epic confrontation with Zymena, who turned out to be a fat, ugly devil.
This time, Code'Xia will accept Orbakh's proposal, which will lead her to become a vampire.
Really? You would offer up your blood in exchange for an eternity of glorious servitude?
You're willingly going to become a bloodsucking vampire? That's one thing I wouldn't do for all the gold in Westgate... nor will I follow you if you decide to do it.
What a pathetic display, Code'Xia! Know that if you continue down this path of darkness, we shall part ways, and I shall channel all the power of Tyr to smite both you and your new master to all the Nine Hells.
Silence, bitches!
You would be a fool to reject such an offer, Code'Xia. The gods are selfish beings, undeserving of your soul. Offer it to the night, and you shall live forever.
There can be no going back, mortal.
I accept.
A sudden interruption...
I came back for
this? You leave me no choice but to side with the Ebon Claws, Code'Xia.
I cannot believe I wasted so much of my time in the presence of one so... so
vile! It is a shame that you have brought us to this point.
I will stand with you, Code'Xia. These vermin are not worthy of Shar's embrace. I pledge my allegiance to the Night Masks.
Ah, Mantides, something right came out of you, in the end
Now the fight begins, but sadly, I missed to take any picture of it. Anyway, it's similar to the one in the previous update, except this time it's Code'Xia, Mantides and Orbakh versus Rinara, Charissa and the rats. They go down just as fast.
As the fight ends, Orbakh approaches.
I am ready.
Being a vampire brings some new abilities, here's a description.
Back to business...
I wish to go back to the surface first.
No. You cannot disobey me. You have traded your soul for power and immortality, but with that comes obedience. Witness.
Fuck.
I took no pleasure in that, but it was necessary. I trust you shall be leaving, yes?
So, immortality comes with a price...
With not much choice, Code'Xia and Mantides reach the Undergate, at the place Orbakh mentioned.
Mmm, but how will Mantides follow?
Bastard was still useless, in the end.
On the other side of the rocks, Code'Xia is greeted by her new minions.
Mwahahahaha!
Let's kill some rats, then.
Generic sewers...
I couldn't do what she said, for some reason, but Eldritch Blast ftw.
An obstacle...
Time to use some of those new abilities.
Some more rats to kill...
We finally reach the door leading to the "boss fight".
Hee, such a simple measure, and it turns back a whole army of vampires. We would have used it earlier, but Mistress Tasheni does not like us to keep a large supply on hand. I wonder why? Hee!
Interesting. We have several options here
Remove the garlic from the door.
Open the door.
The wererat attempts to follow your command but the door is locked.
I cannot follow your command, Mistress. Hee... give me another, so I might do your bidding.
Unlock and open the door.
The wererat does your bidding.
Wow, was that smart or what?
Hee... your will is done, Mistress. What would you have me do next?
Remove the garlic from the door.
The obedient wererat pulls down the garlic dangling from the door frame. With the detestable substance removed, you can now pass through the door.
Hee... what do you wish me to do now?
Finally, at the end.
Epic fireworks display commences.
Tasheni can be a real pain with her bow, but the fight is not nearly as difficult as others we've dealt with already.
Before striking the final blow, Tasheni manages to get away.
Orbakh shows up as well.
I suspected that my treacherous Countess of Shades was the power behind these Ebon Claws. Tasheni wasn't half as subtle as she believed. The disappearance of her sorceress ally is, however, troubling.
I have sent Mantides to stake the traitor's body. There is a delicious irony in this... but that is a tale for another time.
Interesting thing to notice here. If you go on this vampire path from the first playthrough, unless you pay close attention to what's going on, you will have no idea what he means here. Mantides barely mentions Tasheni. The confrontation between them happens only if you go against Orbakh.

So that's it, folks.
Hope you enjoyed.
I enjoyed doing this LP, but damn, it sure takes a lot of time. I salute the people taking their time to do stuff like this more regularly.
