The May Day of 1940 would never be forgotten, yet Hope in and after the May Day of 1941 was almost forgotten.

lphoi2evacofitaly035.jpg

soldados_febanvfeb1.jpg

While the risky evacuation of Italy was ongoing, the Allied forces in South America began further mobilizations to attempt achieving their first victories after more than one year of war.

lphoi2evacofitaly036.jpg

The attempt to pocket power armorz aliens in the Northeast of Brazil didn't work, however, although risked, the divisions in Salvador could be rescued, or risk advancing further in apparently barely defended front lines, for unlike in the rest of the world, for now, in South America, the alien forces were very thinly spread.

lphoi2evacofitaly037.jpg

Tripoli was of no strategic relevance in a situation like this one. Instead, the five divisions would, once the ongoing evacuation of Italy is finished, be transported to reinforce Suez.

lphoi2evacofitaly038.jpg

The situation was dire, and enemy attacks could be launched at any moment, while divisions in regions already occupied by the enemy were still retreating. A massive evacuation operation has begun, covering both west and east of Southern Italy and escorted by a fleet of thirty warships while a smaller fleet of ten warships blocked the route to Palermo.

lphoi2evacofitaly039.jpg

As soldiers whose homes have been lost fought for their own survival, the only thing happening in South America was the successful delay of enemy forces, as they concentrated on strategically important territories in the harsh environment of the Amazon rainforest, unless, unless their focus on Amazon was driven by the search for something else.

peru_pyra3.jpg

lphoi2evacofitaly040.jpg

San Miguel de Tucuman, the last bastion of resistance remaining in the nation of 1eyedking, suffers a brutal attack by advanced tanks and undead soldiers armed with far better weapons than theirs.

lphoi2evacofitaly041.jpg

In the meantime, part of the evacuated soldiers in Italy are being deployed to Reggio di Calabria to buy time for divisions that were still retreating from the north, including among them the brave Swiss division that volunteered to buy time in Rome, but was successfully rescued nevertheless.

wenger_giant_swiss_army_knife_2.jpg

:salute:

lphoi2evacofitaly042.jpg

The evacuation, against all odds, has been successful, with now only seven divisions in Foggia remaining to be transported to safety, or to somewhere that would allow them to retreat if, no ifs, because it will be necessary, without being chased and overran.

lphoi2evacofitaly043.jpg

feb-4.jpg

Despite the technologically advanced enemy forces, San Miguel de Tucuman has been saved once again, through the brilliant tactical use of its mountainous terrain.

lphoi2evacofitaly044.jpg

In 23rd of May of 1941, the first phase of the evacuation of Continental Italy, preventing a disaster as terrible as those that happened in the Balkans, dooming more than half a million of soldiers, has been successfully concluded while reinforcements were being shipped to defend the Suez channel for as long as possible, because defending Suez would be critical for the second, perhaps less dangerous but much more emotionally significant phase: their exile to South America, last bastion of the human race, where they would, after and if managing to successfully defeat the enemy forces while there was still time for it, make one stand for Colon, or for as far as they could advance in Central America without meeting the dreaded tripods, while fighting together with local forces.

Men who lost their homes, and many among them who lost their families or even worse, had their families as names between millions in the vast lists of missing people shared between some of the remaining countries of the world.

the_book_of_eli-63.jpg

They have made a promise, while aware of the fact that, to save mankind, they have forsaken their hopeless countries and even their continent. A promise to return to Europe, that would perpetuate through generations if necessary, however, they shall never forget, and maybe, victory could yet be found one day. However, the only thing that finally happened was the Ultimate DOOM Expansion Set for Kwanzania, for in the month of May, Amerikwa was finally completely occupied by aliens, and now, only remnants of Canada prepared for a last stand, aware, that the more they resisted, the more hope there would be for humanity in South America as they were buying time, drawing the tripods towards them, for once Canada has fallen as well, the mass of the Amerikwan invasion would begin their march to the south.

lphoi2evacofitaly045.jpg

Understrength and disorganized, the divisions in Reggio di Calabria were in adelicate situation, and the risk of them retreating towards the wrong direction existed. Thus, well aware of their null chances of stopping the enemy, they are ordered to immediately retreat instead of fighting a hopeless battle. They must live to fight another day, if there will be yet another day for mankind.

lphoi2evacofitaly046.jpg

And thus, they safely retreated for Palermo, defended by a large fleet of thirty ships.

lphoi2evacofitaly047.jpg

Meanwhile, the last bomber division of Poland faces a terrible danger, while Finnish soldiers forsake the Soviet Union.

Gameplay comment: Due to some strange engine quirk, it's possible to order rebases directly from the unit screen but not by simply right-clicking on the province where you want to rebase when doing so in allied provinces from the allies created by the custom event. And thus, I could have saved dozens of divisions but didn't thanks to a glitch which workaround I haven't found yet by then.

:x

At least this means this game will be much harder and challenging, that if it still can be won or if at least it becomes possible to survive.

lphoi2evacofitaly048.jpg

775px-CVN-78_Artist_Image.jpg

Then, in a futile attempt to crush the soldiers in Palermo, the enemy sends a lone, unescorted and highly technological aircraft carrier, but it folds to the sheer number and tactical superiority of the defenders, for the aliens were incredibly dumb at naval tactics, as the fact they sent a single carrier without escorts show. The submarines in the region swarmed the carrier with torpedoes without the threat of being attacked, because it lacked any kind of anti-submarine weapon.

lphoi2evacofitaly049.jpg

wasp-burning-and-sinking.jpg

lphoi2evacofitaly050.jpg

300px-Dywizjon_303_4.jpg

Meanwhile, the last bomber crews of Poland prepare for a long journey to depart from their fallen nation. True veterans, they also shall be in exile like the soldiers, fighting far away from home for people they never met or knew, and they also have made a promise to return.

lphoi2evacofitaly051.jpg

A division that could be saved all the time, but didn't due to certain bureaucratic messes, is lost, dying of starvation, however, the remnants in there could still be saved.

lphoi2evacofitaly052.jpg

And for their rescue, ironically, Malvin, Falkland Islands would be of critical importance.

lphoi2evacofitaly053.jpg

Meanwhile, although lacking in white wymmenz, Central America would also meet the machete rape gangs, and apparently, there was a wide, undefended Central America, thus, the most mountainous area of it could yet serve as a defensive outpost, its defense to become the last hope of mankind.

lphoi2evacofitaly054.jpg

It was also ironic, that the truly last stand of Poland in their home would be performed by a single division of Soviet expeditionary forces. The enemy ignored Wilno so far, concentrating on their race for Moscow.

lphoi2evacofitaly055.jpg

A risky choice, that could liberate the industrial heart of Brazil if successful, is made regarding the situation in its northeast.

lphoi2evacofitaly056.jpg

While the operation to rescue the still alive soldiers stranded at Tierra del Fuego continues.

lphoi2evacofitaly057.jpg

And more than a hundred thousand men make their stand for Suez. The enemy haven't attacked yet, simply staying there, as to only prevent more advances by the allied forces, but the clock was ticking, the evacuation was still ongoing in its second phase: the departured from the Mediterranean, that sooner or later could become an inland sea for the aliens.

lphoi2evacofitaly058.jpg

Fleeing remnants of the Kwanzanian army land in Vitoria, bringing the hope of a chance to push further such liberation while most of the aliens were advancing sluggishly through the Amazon rainforest.

lphoi2evacofitaly059.jpg

And thus, the largest evacuation in the history of mankind begins in its longest phase, as almost a million of soldiers are readied to depart from their home continent and reach South America in two waves.

lphoi2evacofitaly060.jpg

Soldiers in exile, making an almost one month long travel between the Old and the New World, preparing themselves for the inevitable, ultimate battle for the human race. Although not fully informed, they knew that Central America would host such a battle.

lphoi2evacofitaly061.jpg

However, many were doomed and lost, yet, they were not yet crushed by the enemy for unknown reasons.

lphoi2evacofitaly062.jpg

The last territories of Poland were still not attacked, but that would happen, sooner or later, to the misfortune of the Polish soldiers who managed to join the others evacuating Italy in time, most who left their families and everything else they loved behind.

lphoi2evacofitaly063.jpg

Suez remained in allied hands, but for how long? The question had many answers, and some, as time would tell, could be extremely unpleasant.

lphoi2evacofitaly064.jpg

62283562.Z4OLhBFp.jpg

The enemy launched a massive fleet of modern carriers against the defenders of Palermo, as they, overwhelmed by a swarm of technologically advanced fighters and bombers, were forced to retreat, severely endangering the hundred of thousand soldiers still to be evacuated and the now millions of civilians at Palermo, who would have nowhere else to run.

lphoi2evacofitaly065.jpg

der-noob-in-das-boot-20050217093152973.jpg

When all hope could be lost, a brave submarine commander departs towards the disputed waters, while the thirteen divisions tried to hold themselves against a massive horde.

lphoi2evacofitaly066.jpg

Rapeclock.jpg

37.jpg

lphoi2evacofitaly067.jpg

They bravely, on their own, began to attack enemy transports along the waters, because the enemies apparently were so dumb regarding naval warfare that they couldn't conceive the fact on their faces that their tripods were amphibious, for the luck of humanity.

Could the allied forces succeed South America where even the most powerful nations of the world have failed? Could be there victory after all?

Game mechanic wise, the answer is yes, as they are just one faction amongst others.

But

1) They can only deploy them in Willhelmshafen because it's the only province they "legally control" instead of only occuppying

2) They won't build transports. I'll make sure of that.

3) They can only build regular divisions instead of uber savegame-hacked divisions.

Even then, winning will be nearly impossible, but not really impossible.

Now I see, why evacuating to America is an only option - the aliens won't be able to reinforce the American front! Soon, they will probably take control of the seas though.

There is another strange thing that I've noticed. Why are the conquered nations not annexed, that's what AI always does, when it controls all the victory points. Needless to add, the fact, that Aliens did not annex anyone is the only thing, that allows you to evacuate troops, as they would evaporate, as soon as their home country is annexed (the only exception are expeditionary troops).

And what about resistance? Are the partisans strong on the alien occupied lands? If it is so, the aliens would have terrible problems with supplying their forces, as I can imagine their transport capacity would be extremely overloaded due to partisan attacks.

To defend the last hope of humanity

lphoi2tolasthope001.jpg

The last reports received from Finnish forces were dire. The Soviet Union, no matter how much propaganda they used to hide it, was collapsing and about to be ultimately defeated, while Sweden and Norway nearly entirely crushed as well. They knew that ITZ was coming to Finland.

lphoi2tolasthope002.jpg

Meanwhile, Palermo would be lost in the long term, even as the long journey of thirty men proceeded to Colombia, it was known that they should evacuate everyone as soon as possible, lest they become doomed, for Suez could also be lost, eventually.

lphoi2tolasthope003.jpg

480px-A-12_Avenger_Concept.jpg

For successive waves of attacks from advanced aircrafts were slowly leading the Italian navy to break apart.

lphoi2tolasthope004.jpg

And the attacks continued, time after time, as an attempt to transport more soldiers to Suez would lead to the death of dozens of thousands.

lphoi2tolasthope005.jpg

800px-F-117A_GBU-28.JPEG

And while the waves of attacks were somehow held off for a time, the enemy would then, realizing perhaps the intentions of the Alliance Guard, send their most powerful fleet to crush Palermo.

lphoi2tolasthope006.jpg

However, this fleet was not their largest yet. For it was known what sort of opposition they could deliver if they wanted to.

lphoi2tolasthope007.jpg

lphoi2tolasthope008.jpg

Meanwhile, the remnants of the former British Empire gave one last gift to Poland, perhaps as a request for them to never be forgotten, if somewhere, mankind was to survive, somehow. And then,

lphoi2tolasthope009.jpg

carrier_group_01.jpg

ship_battleship_iowa_front_firing_lg.jpg

laser1.png

Powerful ray guns were able to vaporize any shells coming against the enemy carriers while their aircrafts terrorized the massive fleet.

lphoi2tolasthope010.jpg

USSArizona_PearlHarbor_2.jpg

It became one of the greatest shipwrecks in history, and not even one enemy vessel was sunk. However, in the wake of such tragedy, it became clear that only a submarine force could secure Palermo for a sufficiently long time, and that most likely, the still surviving fifteen divisions in Palermo were stranded, for any transports would be massacred by the surrounding enemy fleets, but maybe there was still a way to take them away from there. And then, while finally news came regarding the fall of Moscow, signaling the ultimate doom of the Soviet Union, and that thus, only the countries of South America, insular Central America, Japan, Ireland and New Zealand still had a chance to survive, very chilling and shivering news would arrive to general WhiskeyWolf.

lphoi2tolasthope011.jpg

nuclearblast.jpg

14th of June of 1941, the darkest day in the history of humankind. The day the aliens launched their most powerful weapon against the city of Leningrad, contradicting the affirmation that atomic weapons were impossible now. Or perhaps, it worked under different principles, but the results were the same. Millions have died, and a crater was all that remained from the once proud Soviet city. If the aliens had even more of these weapons, then there was really no hope anymore, and the extinction of the human race would be inevitable. However, even more infamy would arrive in this infamous 14th of June of 1941.

lphoi2tolasthope012.jpg

italy_beam.jpg

lphoi2tolasthope013.jpg

Pearl_harbour.png

lphoi2tolasthope014.jpg

Were it not for the still mostly intact submarine fleet and the total ignorance of the enemy in matters of submarine warfare, Palermo would already have been lost.

lphoi2tolasthope015.jpg

The long overdue rescue of the dying divisions at Tierra del Fuego begins, but only one of those divisions can still be saved.

lphoi2tolasthope016.jpg

lphoi2tolasthope017.jpg

While some Finnish divisions managed to cross through the wastelands of Leningrad, many were outmaneuvered by the unforgiving enemy forces and crushed. Europe and Asia, with the exception of Japan, Philippines and all the islands and archipelagos around these continents, have fallen. After almost 14 months of war, the future of mankind was bleak.

lphoi2tolasthope018.jpg

pracinhas4.gif

lphoi2tolasthope019.jpg

pracinhas5.gif

However, the courageous armies of South America were the only ones that still weren't utterly defeated by such enemy, and soon, reinforcements would arrive to support them, as they attempted to defeat the still isolated and thinly-spread alien forces occupying their nations.

lphoi2tolasthope020.jpg

And thus, a desperate division was there, lost. But at least one of them, or more exactly, the few survivors among them, could still be saved.

lphoi2tolasthope021.jpg

Soon the first wave of forces from the lost European fronts would arrive in South America, and it would be the time to strike back and attempt to secure the last hope of humanity. While these men, many who lost their home countries and families, went through a long travel at the Atlantic and were to disembark after a week, negotiations were being made by WhiskeyWolf for the creation of the only thing that could ensure the survival of mankind in South America in the long term, hoping that the enemy had no more weapons like the one which devastated Leningrad.

sauy.jpg

The creation of the United Democratic Multinational States of south Kwanzania, central Kwanzania and north Kwanzania, the UDMS-KKK.

lphoi2tolasthope022.jpg

In 28th of June, an air battle happened in the skies of Corsica, as, fearing that the enemy aircrafts could carry yet another of those devastating weapons, the Italian pilots gave their best to defend the skies of what remained of their country, and they realized that, the fact they were far more advanced did not mean such bombers could survive without an escort.

b52crash3rj9.jpg

lphoi2tolasthope023.jpg

And thus, heavy losses were inflicted against the enemy aircrafts. Perhaps, the Foedus of Man scientists could salvage something very valuable from such victory.

lphoi2tolasthope024.jpg

The men who were rescued from Tierra del Fuego could have a very ironic end now, almost as cynical and hopeless as the

Ending of Das Boot

lphoi2tolasthope025.jpg

sinking_aircraft_carrier9.jpg

However, that did not happen, thanks to the help of the remnants of the Kwanzanian Navy, that somehow haven't fallen apart yet, even after ITZ.

lphoi2tolasthope026.jpg

simo-hayha.jpg

It didn't matter how great of snipers they had, when the enemies were impenetrable by their bullets. However, even amidst the inevitability of ITZ, Simo Häyhä, having discovered the weak points in the powar armorz and armed with an elephant gun, would still become a legend, even if a very short-lived one.

lphoi2tolasthope027.jpg

And thus, ITZ coming to Finland.

lphoi2tolasthope028.jpg

Fo1_Necropolis_Photograph.png

By the end of 2nd of July of 1941, the first large-scale offensive operation of the Alliance Guard was being prepared, when more terrible news came, as the same weapon of mass destruction that ravaged Leningrad has been reported in the distant Frunze.

lphoi2tolasthope029.jpg

laser_tank_safe.jpg

When the dawn came, the attack was immediately initiated while heavy bombing occurred against the exceptionally advanced tanks, as they answered back immediately by charging their ray guns. They seemed completely unabated regarding their organization as the battle proceeded, although their division, under heavy saturation of artillery fire and bombing runs, began to take heavy losses.

lphoi2tolasthope030.jpg

Meanwhile, the aliens answered to the fact parts of their front were left undefended.

lphoi2tolasthope031.jpg

After one day, the alien popamobiles were pounded heavily, and yet they continued to hold their ground, and did not retreat even one inch, while the allied forces were slowly ceding due to organization loss.

lphoi2tolasthope032.jpg

However, the battle crushed more than twenty percent of the enemy tanks, according to the reconaissance, even if not succeeding at the liberation of Santa Cruz and the planned joining with Brazilian forces and liberation of Paraguay.

lphoi2tolasthope033.jpg

It became clear that, despite not as powerful and devastating as tripods, these popamobiles could be defeated, but it would be easier to do so through their complete annihilation than by forcing than to retreat.

lphoi2tolasthope034.jpg

And while the battle for Santa Cruz was over, unsuccessful except for bringing heavy losses to the enemy, the first journey in the evacuation of Europe was finally concluded, and there were no signs of more enemy divisions coming from Central America for now, meaning there was still a chance for victory. Upon the battles to come depends the survival of the human race, and thus, any mistake now would mean the end of everything.

lphoi2tolasthope035.jpg

The time to secure South America was running out every day, for sooner or later, the reported six Tripod divisions that brought ITZ to Kwanzania would arrive. Thus, using properly the Merchant Marine volunteers to avoid long delays that transporting the divisions by land would ensue will be critical, for with these thirty divisions it will already be possible to perhaps fight back, and ideally encircle and crush these weaker alien forces. However, the transport of the divisions at Suez, and if possible, of the ones in Palermo, shall also become essential for victory, for then, the entirety of an army of more than a million of men would be available to defend the last continent where there was still a chance for mankind.

lphoi2tolasthope036.jpg

For unknown reasons, Wilno wasn't crushed yet by the aliens, as weren't crushed small remnants of Bulgaria and Yugoslavia where stranded Polish and German divisions awaited for what they expected to be their ultimate doom. Europe has fallen completely, the Soviets were annihilated and Finland would be defeated soon as well. The only country with chances to survive, that never met the devastation of this war, was Ireland, which now had a great opportunity to retake North Ireland from the dying British Empire.

lphoi2tolasthope037.jpg

Facing a two-front war against such dreaded enemies, the crown of the jewel in the British Empire would fall soon, and thus the British Empire would be completely crushed as well, and thus Wyrmlord would never be born, for the joy of a few. Only Japan and the Philippines would survive in Asia.

lphoi2tolasthope038.jpg

As for Kwanzania. Like said, the Ultimate DOOM Expansion Set for Kwanzania and Canada has come already, and now, except for a few soldiers making their last stands, no resistance existed any more, and soon, the gross of their forces would begin to head southwards, and meet perhaps all of the 119 divisions that would make the last stand of humanity in Amerikwa in one of the greatest battles ever fought in the history of the planet. A battle that was soon to come.

====================

I need suggestions regarding a flag for the upcoming United Democratic Multinational States of south Kwanzania, central Kwanzania and north Kwanzania, or just UDMS-KKK.

And, yes, I made a mistake regarding making the AI not use nuclear strikes, but now it is fixed, or at least I hope so.

The last hope is here

lphoi2thelasthope001.jpg

Upon their arrival in South America, all the thirty divisions were prepared to travel again, twelve would be sent to secure Colon, while the other eighteen, once the Panama channel was liberated, would use it to reach Ecuador and defend it from the lone enemy division in Medellin.

lphoi2thelasthope002.jpg

News of ITZ in Finland continued arriving, as the Finnish soldiers fought bravely, even knowing they stood no chance against such an enemy.

lphoi2thelasthope003.jpg

It was perhaps fitting, that the last stand in Europe would happen in Finland.

lphoi2thelasthope004.jpg

lphoi2thelasthope005.jpg

In the meantime, it became clear that fifteen divisions would never, ever reach South America in time. And besides, a new strategy would be required to rescue the defenders of Suez and bring them to South America.

lphoi2thelasthope006.jpg

791px-1944_NormandyLST.jpg

A massive amphibious operation begins to liberate the undefended Panama channel while there is still time.

lphoi2thelasthope007.jpg

The enemy causes even more destruction against the collapsing Italian Navy.

lphoi2thelasthope008.jpg

After ITZ, the once proud United States of America was reduced to a shithole in the Caribbean.

lphoi2thelasthope009.jpg

With Colon secured, more naval operations proceed to give a far greater agility to the Alliance Guard forces.

lphoi2thelasthope010.jpg

And another naval battle begins.

lphoi2thelasthope011.jpg

Brazilian forces among the Alliance guard began an operation to cut off enemy forces in their territory.

lphoi2thelasthope012.jpg

Then, it becomes clear that Colon will never be sustainable as a ground for defending South America from the gigantic might of ITZ that devastated the rest of the continent. Immediately, a new amphibious operation begins with the goal of liberating Panama while a lone enemy division of unknown nature is identified. A race against time begins, for if Panama is lost, ITZ will be over.

Lci-convoy.jpg

lphoi2thelasthope013.jpg

In the meantime, part of the transports are redeployed back to Africa, to relieve the defenders of Suez, and because Suez didn't fall yet, maybe there would be time to avoid taking a less direct route. However, when the landings have just begun.

d-day2.jpg

Panama, the Stalingrad of South America

lphoi2thelasthope014.jpg

16th of July of 1941, date of the most important battle ever fought in the history of America and of mankind. For defeat would bring total disaster for the entire South American front. The brutal war machines did not wait for everyone to land when they commenced their attack. Polish, Yugoslavian and Italian soldiers struggled.

War_of_the_WorldsM_by_Wittman80.jpg

Heavy storms, thunders crackling violently through the skies, making the scenery of a truly dramatic battle, the most important battle ever fought in America since the beginning of the conflict, the Battle of Panama.

lphoi2thelasthope015.jpg

The few reinforcements arriving would not be sufficient. Fortunately, more soldiers would come soon by sea, but the men who were there must defend Panama long enough for the new batch of reinforcements to come.

lphoi2thelasthope016.jpg

wotw8.jpg

The brutal battle of Panama lasted for days, as the brave defenders attempted to hold the tide of the powerful enemy forces.

lphoi2thelasthope017.jpg

3078946491_3083337c3b.jpg

lphoi2thelasthope018.jpg

x9947.jpg

Against all odds, the battle of Panama was won, securing the future of humanity for now. Had the evacuation of Italy been delayed even one day, things could have been very different right now. And besides, such would probably not be the last time the aliens would attempt to take over Panama.

lphoi2thelasthope019.jpg

lphoi2thelasthope020.jpg

For Finland, there was no more hope. The enemy continued unstoppable, and they lacked the necessary numbers to defend their nation against such a threat. Their last stand was drawing near.

lphoi2thelasthope021.jpg

An important battle is fought in Brazil.

lphoi2thelasthope022.jpg

There could be victory yet, as the enemy begins to lose organization... but then.

lphoi2thelasthope023.jpg

lphoi2thelasthope024.jpg

Allied forces in Egypt prepare to get closer from the transports that will arrive soon to rescue most of them and ship them to Brazil, where the situation is far from stable yet, for if they manage to successfully liberate the heart of Brazil, the aliens will be sandwiched between two battlefronts.

lphoi2thelasthope025.jpg

The lone alien forces in Medellin attack Quito. There is little that could be done, and attack attempts against it end unsuccessful. The best hope is to isolate such division somewhere where it'll starve without supplies, and then crush it after a time.

lphoi2thelasthope026.jpg

The time is drawing close for another decisive moment in the battle for Earth. For South America indeed became the last continent mankind hasn't lost yet.

lphoi2thelasthope027.jpg

Panama will be of utmost importance. However, in the 1st of August of 1941, with his reputation improved thanks to the decisive victory in Panama, General Whiskeywolf finally manages to take the first steps in the agenda for the creation of a multinational State. Such act however, will take a little more time to be completely formalized, as the last world power would be about to be risen, and a new hope for humanity begins.

lphoi2thelasthope028.jpg

For the first time since the beginning of the conflict in 1st of May of 1940, the alien forces began to slowly lose ground, in South America. If the soldiers who did not manage to defend Suez succeed at arriving, the tide of this conflict could yet be turned, and the enemy perhaps could be completely purged from South America while a new offensive against Santa Cruz to utterly destroy the Xenu Popamobiles was being readied. South America was truly the last hope, as shown by reports regarding the situation in the rest of the world.

lphoi2thelasthope029.jpg

lphoi2thelasthope030.jpg

lphoi2thelasthope031.jpg

The only powerful country that would survive was Japan. Both Soviet Union and British Empire were on the verge of defeat, as Eurasia would be completely overran.

A new chapter in the history of Earth was about to begin.

Excellent! Hopefully, you will find some way to evacuate those troops from Egypt. But why the aliens did not attack the pockets in Central Europe yet?

Khomeini's dreams come true - the troops of Great Satan have been overran by the glorious mujahedeens , thus allowing the creation of the greater Iran. Shia Islam shall now rule the entire world!

Actually, it's a Modern Scenario 2 mod for Hearts of Iron 2. It's fairly easy to throw US back from Iraq. Once I witnessed that stupid American AI even failed to defeat the partisans there. In MDS2, the airforce is hugely overpowered, and if player exploits that, he will be virtually invincible. I saw many ridiculous After Action Reports where, for instance, Iran conquered Europe and USA, or another where Poland utterly crushed Russia, or the one, where North Korea took most of Asia and nuked heck out of US.

Yes, MDS2 has one glaring flaw that unfortunately will never be fixed, even if it was to be made for HoI3 or Arsenal of Democracy too, because that will never happen as the project was, like Grimoire and Duke Nukem Forever, cancelled.

Obviously, its primary flaw is having a worse AI than vanilla Hearts of Iron 2. If it weren't for such flaw and for the serious hassle that would be transferring a game from vanilla to it, I'd consider using it to extend this thread length, but Armaggeddon makes the game last until 1963, and much could change by then already.

Now, I hope it's page 9 already.

Good AI is what most games lack. Playing as a major power in HoI2 scenario, like Germany on Normal difficulty level is incredibly easy, if you have at least moderate skill. The only challenge is when human player is severly handicapped, and his side's production and fighting capacity is artificially lowered. If I remember well, the second out of six difficulty levels in Civilization 3 is the one in which the player is on equal footing with the AI (which is supposed to be an easy one). I am currently writing a Jagged Alliance 2 AAR/LP on another forums, and the dumbness of my computer-controlled enemies strikes me. They just go straight within the range of my weapons in the intervals, which allow me to easily take them all down. I imagine a small squad of mercenaries facing a regular army would be forced to adopt advanced tactics in order to survive. But no, all it does take to achieve victory is to go to the enemy sector, lie down on the grass, take out your sniper rifle, and start the duck-shooting.

Ok, enough of this ranting, I just hope it's page 9 already.
