Update VI – Headhunting and farewells.
And how do you think?
Bloody hell...
You know that those bastards went to other random houses.
Collecting all of them will be a pain in the arse.
Yeah, unfortunately... But see the bright-side of it all... Once we have them we'll be unstoppable
…
You know... We already are
When do we enter Kenshin's route?
After this one update is over...
But we could do it right now... Ok, almost right now...
There are reasons... And they are mine...
Fine, fine, whatever. Do as you please. Provided that we go for Kenshin's route after that.
Fair enough
Just wake me up when this is over...
Let the fun begin!
Did I say fun? No, by no means I meant that... We are at the game's most boring point sadly.
You see, catching those Takeda generals is a real pain in the neck. Let me demonstrate:
First you pick random house such as Hojou.
Then you conquer the shit out of it in the vain hope that you will meet one of the commanders along the way.
Once it becomes obvious that you'd sooner take over everything they have and finish them of you have to stall...
And by stall I mean...
...using all you action fans on enemies territories, cancelling out each attack until you discover (with scout option) that the commander you are interested in appeared on the battlefield. Thus:
Hurray, we've found our first victim!!
Easier said then done. As I said before it is much harder to capture commanders now... Moreover Baba is a fucking rapist – one mistake in a fight with him and all is lost... Also, did I mention that reloading a game after lost fight may change the enemy units' list so we won't see Baba again at the same instance?
Finally!
Recruitment...
There's a good reason why I want all Takeda commanders in my army. You see...
Baba Shouen – and all the other Takeda commanders are pretty much the only male characters that can talk Rance down...
...and get away with it
We find another 'recruitee' with Akashi family. A long and hopeless (and tedious) struggle commences...
Frankly, let's skip it.
It took probably around 30 tries to capture him... And I'm only counting times I won... And I did use units with 'Defeated Warriors Hunt' ability to aid the capture.
Oh well...
Recruitment time!
That was brief. One more to go!
Where is he?
There he is! He sits at Mouri's... This shouldn't take long...
*50 tries later*
Fuck this shit! It's hopeless. It can't be done! First, the bastard is tough enough to send my whole army till the kingdom come. Second, when I finally manage to win he cannot be captured?!
WTF is this popamole bullshit I don't even!?
Ok, why are you whining here again? What can't be done?
Sis? WTF are you doing here?
Back home for Christmas? You know, like you did?
Anyway let me have a go.
There's no way you gonna...
Hhhow did you...?
それは秘密です
Anyways, I'm going back to my thingies and stuffies... See ya!
*The conversation above and things that transpired did occur in reality exactly as described.. sorta*
Rance!
Hhhzzhzzz....
Rance! Wake up goddammit!
What?!
It's over. We have all of the Takeda commanders!
Yeah...
I did totally not notice that myself when I was recruiting them MORAN!
Let us go with the plot then...
*The very same day on the battlefield*
And so we defeat our foes.
The very same turn we get another event before a battle.
:truepatriots:
So when the turn comes to an end... Malicious powers work.
Yes... This is the indication that Kenshin's route has been opened... with that event with Kenshin that is.
However, I still had things to do, dungeons to explore, people to kill, arses to take...
It all takes time, you know?
Over that period I accomplished a lot. The most important achievements are:
Getting enough satisfaction for another action fan
(in before slowpoke
)
and...
… capturing Nanjou Ran! Just from looking at her numbers should say that she was no idle threat.
She is another heroine, just like Kenshin and Yamamoto Isoroku. And the only one that meets a sad end in all other routes beside her own
Originally, I intended to avoid catching her to show you Codex how the things end when she is not away from Soun when Hojou family falls...
But I changed my mind
remembering that Hojou is a motherfucking badass second only to Omachi.
Plus, I'm hopeless completionist so not creating a save having access to all the routes felt just... wrong.
So, coming back to our game...
We win!
Gahahahaha!
And Rance gets his 'reward' one more time.
Gahahahahahahahahahaha!
This is it folks... The first part of the game has come to an end.
Now it is enough to wait one turn and...
We will get a choice between True and Isoroku routes (two variants of searching for Kou)
We could also 'turn back time' and enter Nanjou Ran's route...
… by completing Oil Dungeon.
But what we are truly interested in is this:
Kenshin's route... here we come!
But this is the end for me... In this timeline at least.
I hope you feel up to the task.
Yeah, yeah we will all miss you (not!
).
I was not talking to you Rance.
Kenshin, it's time for you to take over.
It'll be my honour!
Farewell guys
And farewell to you too you who used to call yourself Nagao Kagetora, Uesugi Masatora, Uesugi Terutora...
Fare you well, Uesugi Kenshin...
*Smiles*
*And then he vanishes into the night*
What was that all about I don't even...
To be continued... next year.
