Chapter VII: Pożegnanie
It's been a while...
You took your time...
Certainly not long enough... I guess.
As you all remember our heroines decimated the entire orc populace.
:thumbs up:
Now they receive their just award...
Just that?
Cheer up! According to my calculation the lewt we found would be enough to buy this village 12 times, and we would still be left with spare cahnge.
And don't forget about the major currency of every adventurer...
XP
Let's check if that oafish Blacksmith has another job for us.
A small change in equipment. Clausewitz swap his trusty Falchion for Silver Bastard Sword of Chaos +1
IT IS AS THOUGH A THOUSAND MILES CRY OUT IN PAIN!!!
Oddly enough, he can use it – seems Co* removed Exotic Weapon proficiency as the requirement for bastard swords.
Anna Rexia puts on robe of thieving – which due to low strength score renders her encumbered.
Apart from that Nex enhances Anna's Blade with magick – now she has Shortsword +2.
Aislinn puts on Cloak of Charisma +2 she found in one of the chests.
Or was it a corpse? No matter!
Lock-picking?
Leave that to me!
Unfortunately Anna Rexia fails at picking locks.
:tap tap tap:
Sowwy
In due time... Just wait a while
The heroines resolve to journey to a new location
However, they are impeded by an insolent fool.
Finally, they arrive in Nulb, and start doing what every self-respecting adventurer does on this occasion.
Looking for a place to spend night?
No... Searching for sub-quests.
XP
And so they do...
Thanks to insanely good persuasion skills, they manage to squeeze out the location of the temple...
We've already known that... there was that bloody map on the “assassin's” note.
Amatours everywhere.
and get access to high priest of one of the sub-temples.
That's some benefit.
Anyway, the characters continue solving minor squabbles of the populace.
Sometimes it ends bloodily
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!
The heroes murederous vixens + barbarian venture to Imeryd's Run.
Where's that godsdamn gar?
Here?
Oh shitz!!
FROGS!!
Quickly, blind them!!
I'm on it!
As Aislinn casts Glitterdust, a BEHEMOTH Frog emerges – enraged, though unaffected by the spell.
They are going at us from both sides!
Reinforcements are coming!
Thus, Nex summons Dire Wolf, and after a while a Celestial Bear.
Celestial?
I confused summoning formulae. Laugh as much as you want.
Clausewitz during the attempt of flanking gets attacked and poisoned. He still manages to inflict some major damage.
Both Behemoth Frog and Seahag who leads the lizardmen focus their attacks on animal companions.
Bloody fools
Aislinn puts all the lizardmen to sleep with Deep Slumber.
Both sides continue exchanging punches. In the mean time Bee summons another Dire Wolf, and Aislinn drains the behemoth's strength away. The frog persists in grappling Ursa whilst being hit by Anna and Clausewitz with avalanche of attacks.
Due to not small contribution of Nex and her pet, Aislinn manages to take down the Seahag with her Magic Missiles.
Finally, we triumph!'
Quit saying that as though it was news!
I wish we could get to do something really exciting!
So it's excitement you are looking for? ::
We loot the frog's corpse.
Good thing that all magical loot was immune to digestive juices.
Anna equips gloves of Dexterity while Clausewitz puts on Purple Elven Armour
Then, the party finds what they were after.
Having wrecked havoc, death and...
KHEYOS!!
They return to Nulb...
Where Clausewitz engages in glorious slaughter boxing competition.
Surprisingly enough, the battle actually is even.
But inevitably...
LEVEL UP!
Anna takes another level as a rogue and makes a point of increasing her lockpicking drastically
Clausewitz focuses on his Barbarian class.
Bee experiences epiphany, and embraces new ways...
Balance in all things.
Nex learns Confusion and Summon Monster IV – as well as a number of spells from scrolls.
Aislinn makes, perhaps, the greatest mistake in this campaign and instead of Fireball learns Haste.
I made a mistake?!
Ehm.
We get the reward for Giant Gar.
And we head back to Hommlet
Our journey is hardly eventful.
There, with Bee's invaluable help Anna picks the lock of the mysterious chest.
What a curious book.
Wait!
:dizzy:
WTF?!
Before the battle starts, our witches have a moment or two to cast some protective spells...
Then the shit hit the fan.
Aislinn mysteriously loses her turn.
Clausewitz and Anna rush to melee the Owlbears
Nex hurls a Fireball. Following that Bee calls a lighting strike.
Aislinn hastens the party.
Clausewitz gets criticed but holds his own. Anna outflanks the owlbear and scores a feeble sneak attack.
Nex blinds two out of three does.
Bee let's them feel heavenly wrath...
Aislinn offs one of the enemies from the battle.
Anna Rexia and Clausewitz finish toying with the other.
A few moments before the next skirmish are enough to prepare.
Aislinn starts with Haste.
Then Nex casts Glitterdust. In the mean time Bee summons Dire Wolf.
Clausewitz and Anna Rexia charge at the first Hill Giant.
Both Aislinn and Nex cast Hideous laughter on the other giant. Whereas Ailsinn fails...
Nex succeedds.
There can be only one ending:
What are you doing with their corpses?
Guess...
Those minions were pathetically weak. Bring more!
Guess we can't have more action.
Well, we kinda run out of spells. A short respite would do us good.
But then we gonna steamroll the opposition into a pulp! No challenge.
I've got a gut-feeling you are gravely mistaken.
Hey! It is me who was on beans and cabbage diet, till recently!
The very next day the team, knowing what lies ahead of them prepares accordingly.
With all those buff in place nothing can stand in our way!!
Oh SHIT!!
I am on it!
Anna charges at the zombies to the east.
Aislinn casts a Fireball spell from the single scroll she has, taking down most of the undead from the eastern flank.
Rrragh! Raraaaeegh!! Rrahh! (By the gods! There's a mage among them!! Quick!)
Bee summons Lighting Bolt.
Unfortunately, the wizard scoffs at the efforts to bring him down...
… and casts
STINKING CLOUD!!
*cough cough cough*
I thought that spell was banned!!
RARAGHHREEEGHRA! (Apparently they weren't informed about it!)
Nex succeeds at her Fortitude roll and throws a fireball, which kills the undead mage!
But also wakes up another wave from the North.
Nex runs away from the location, leaving the cloud of stench behind her(?).
Should be safe now. *pants*
Clausewitz tries to push through to another mage, but is prevented by Giant's Skeleton and Ghasts.
A bunch of undead rush towards Nex. However, the one to injure her is enemy wizard who cast Phantasmal Killer on her – luckily she resists the spell.
Aislinn enhances everyone save Anna with Haste. Anna is being practically gangraped surrounded by masses of living corpses.
HALP!
Bee, however, knows her priorities. She concentrates her lightning strikes on the black wizard.
Nex casts another Fireball, wrecking destruction. The enemy wizards still stands, though.
A tragedy strikes when Clausewitz, despite his formidable Fortitude bonuses succumbs to sickness!
BLEGH!!
Mere seconds later, he becomes paralysed!
::
The enemy wizard takes advantage of this opportunity and hurls a lighting bold – wounding Nex severely!
Anna does her best to fend off the attackers.
Would appreciate some assistance. NOW!!
Finally, Bee takes down the undead spell caster.
Before that – Anna is heavily wounded by a Skeleton Giant.
At this point bullshitz hitz our party. In spite of being out side of the stinking cloud for two rounds Nex gets sickened
:blegh: You... shall.. :blegh: Fucking... cheaters... :blegh:
Seeing that the tides of battle turned once again against our team, Aislinn does the only right thing – she blinds two gigantic skelingtons.
It helped.
But not much – when it turns out Bee has fallen to the sickness, as well. She too has left the circle of smog earlier.
:blegh:
She still moves in the direction of the last enemy wizard – the one who suspiciously has done nothing since the beginning of the encounter, but cast defensive spells... until now. He hits Anna with Magic Missiles! This is followed by a successful Giant's hit on her skull.
It... won't... be... long... now...
Clausewitz moves to her position, wanting to draw enemies' attention.
:BLEGH!:
He cannot participate more actively in the fight now, however.
Aislinn does her best to inflict as much damage as possible with her magic missiles. Unfortunately, it'll turn out, that she picked wrong enemy.
Finally Nex recovers from sickness. Unfortunately, she makes a tactical mistake and makes 5 foot step, blocking her vision to battlefield. Instead of aiding her comrades, she casts summon monster III to take down the undead who's been following her.
Blah, blah, blah! My precious skin is way more valuable than those bitch's.
This error costs us dearly when this happens:
ANNA, NO!!
YOU SHALL PAY!!!
RAGHH!! (NOOO!!)
Aislinn throws another bunch of Missiles towards Skeleton Giant.
Bee promptly ends him and a clueless Ghast which just happened to be there.
But not before Nex gets paralysed!
::
Clausewitz singlehandedly bests the other giant! Nex remains does not respond, while her bear dispatches the undead that attacked her, one after another.
The undead force Bee's hand. She summons another charge of her lighting attack!
The tide of battle once again turned on our side.
Lady Fortune is capricious creature, however...
which is proved yet again, when the remaining inconspicuous wizard only now showed his true power:
NEX!!
RAGHHH!! (Bloody luck!!)
I will miss you, bitch...
Miss Bee uses the last charge of her lighting attack. The mage is unfazed by that.
And hurls another Fireball at Aislinn.
HELP!
Clausewitz rushes to aid Miss Bee, but he can't make it this turn.
Aislinn uses the last of her Magic Missiles.
Bee engages in melee – thanks to the flurry of Blows from her monk class she manages to fail hitting at the wizard 3 times.
Raghhraghraaa!! (At least I dispelled three mirror images!!).
Together with Clausewitz they finish off the spell-caster.
Too late
If... if only I'd known...
What remains of our party slaughtered the rest of the foes, in next to no time.
In the end...
I am gonna remodel that bastard's face!!
RAAGGHRAAA!!! (RAAGGHRAAA!!!)
… was it worth it?
