Does this remind you of a part from Torment?

I can immediately think of two scenes that are similar to this. One was entirely textual, and I believe a memory, and the other is the final encounter with the Transcendent One, when the Nameless One merges with the TO.

the memory stone trap(s), merging with the TTO, merging with the 3 incarnations, in descending order of relevance.

I thought it's very close to the situation where The Nameless One merges with the Practical Incarnation.

Even though Darryl Revok attempts to suck the hero's brain dry, it is Revok himself whose brain ends up getting sucked dry. Revok's personality ends up getting subordinated to the hero's personality and the hero gets all of Revok's memories - because Revok was too busy trying to fight the hero to not notice that the hero had an opening into his brain and left his own body.

It's just like the Practical Incarnation who tried to take the Nameless One's memories, but had his memories absorbed instead, because he was too overconfident about what he was going to do.
