Tags: FreedroidFreeDroid, the project to update, remake, and make a CRPG out of Paradroid has been updated, announcing a new isometric viewpoint for the game. To check it out, you can download version 0.9.5, but here's a list of what's going on:
Isometric will probably make this title more interesting to CRPG fans, since top down is kind of clumsy for real time CRPGs.
- MAJOR CHANGE: Work on the change to ISOMETRIC VIEWPOINT has started! Lots of things are broken right now, due to the changes now due. We can start to fix them one by one until the game cvs code is in playable state again.
- Robots now face the right direction again when moving or turning towards a position.
- New obstacle structures have been introduced.
- Obstacle data is partly already auto-generated from map data.
- Obstacles now visible.
- Floor tiles now visible, though currently only 5 testing tiles available.
- Mouse cursor and mouse move fixed for new viewpoint.
- Added a tool to do the cropping and saving of crop amounts for new bitmaps of isometric images.
- Offset files will now (if available) be taken into account when loading and displaying isometric images.
- Patch for missing newlines applied. Thanks to the submitter.
- Fixed positioning of items and robots in new isometric viewpoint.
- Clustering bug fixed, or rather 'diabled' for the release.
- FreedroidRPG 0.9.5 released and announced.
- Build structure fixed for release.
- Added a question mark rendering for 3d item rotation animations that are not yet available.
- Some beautifications and bugfixes for item editor.
- Item editor finally finished.
