Nazghul, the 1990s style CRPG creation engine, has updated their page with a new version of Haxima. Haxima is basically a complete game created and scripted with the engine primarily as a showcase for what it can do. However, it is a complete game unto itself and has the following features:
  • A complete, playable game
  • U5-like game play
  • Multiple characters in the player party
  • Clone of U5 magic system, with some extras
  • A sizable wilderness
  • Several towns
  • Several dungeons
  • A main quest
  • Several side quests
  • Talking NPC's
  • Scripted game world
  • Open-source engine code
So, if you're looking for something to burn a little freetime or wanting to make something nifty yet old school, there you go. Oh, and there's some screenshots of it in action as well.
