Demise 2.0 possible?

Per this thread on the Pharoah Forums, it looks like David Allen might just be recruiting people to make the next generation Demise game.

For those who don't know, Demise was a wickedly cool, first person dungeon crawler in the spirit of Dungeon Master, Black Crypt, and Eye of the Beholder. If you loved those games, you'll love Demise.

I believe the solution here is to put together a new DEMISE 2.0 development team - a group of players who are skilled programmers, people who love the game and want to evolve it into the next generation of graphics.

What I am proposing is that a team from the player base is put together, and their goal is to rewrite the original DEMISE code to the .NET platform, upgrading the 3d engine, game graphics, models, network code, etc. Essentially convert the game to DX9.

This team would need to work under contract with Pharaoh and would be compensated for their work by being entitled to a percentage of any profit that the release of DEMISE 2 may obtain. Each individual involved will also receive full credit for the work they do. If the project evolves to a point where publishers are interested and it receives funding, these contractors will be hired on as employees of Pharaoh.

The first step that needs to be done is the recruitment of two leaders for this project - people with years of development experience, as well as experience in managing projects - preferably one programmer and one art director. Once these two people are selected, they will be responsible for recruiting other members to help with the development of the next release of DEMISE 2.

So let the applications begin! If you wish to apply for the position of project leader for DEMISE 2, send your resume to resumes@pharoah-productions.com. I will personally review them and contact you.

Please do not send resumes for positions on the DEMISE 2 project that are not leader applications at this time, and if you are not both skilled and experienced in the above-defined areas, please do not apply as a leader.

If David Allen isn't just hiring people to pull over to his MMORPG development, which was done a few times with the original Demise, then I may just have to start loving the man again.
