That's not the plane being OP, it's just the weapon. SASM is really broken in multiplayer. The game is built around the idea that you can dodge missiles, so SASM's ability to hurt you just by flying near you breaks the shit out of it. F-4 itself sucks, which makes sense, because hey, it's an F-4 in a game full of much more modern planes.
MP is pretty shit and largely comes down to people spamming the best specials (which means EML/SASM/QAAM). Unless it's a no specials room, in which case it just comes down to people spamming regular missiles and hoping they work. The flight mechanics aren't complex enough for you to use any real strategy, so it's just people flying in circles spamming as much as possible in the hope they get lucky. It's really bad. Not recommended.
