Got the itch to replay this wonderful game and the thought hit me: I can't think of any other RTS, or game, like it.

Anyone know of any?

Did you play it on PC or console? I played it on PC back in the day (I should still have the warez CD in which I got it back then) and I didn't see anything special going for it when compared to, say, Dune 2 or Warcraft (which also ran better on my 386DX), other than the giant robots. On PC the closest would be Simcity 2000 with disasters on.

If you played it on console I'd understand the nostalgia, as strategy games were and still are scarce there.

On SNES. I actually didn't know it was for PC until I looked it up tonight.

I always found the mix of turns and real time interesting and unique and can't think of anything like it.
