Nice, apparently the PSMini decided my usb pen should have been nuked, so after I inserted it into the PS this morning the console shut down erasing all the content of the usb pen, cinluding the Chrono Cross save.
Yesterday I reached the Black Dragon and I was ready to fight it...fuck. I won't ever start the whole thing again, I was 26 hours in.

You could always try to use a free file recovery software like recuva(i would recommend choosing something else) to try to recover the data if you want.
If you didn't put anything on the pen after the contents were deleted there is a high chance you can recover the save.

Or you could download a save file from gamefaq, but it won't be the same.

Eh, sadly I wrote the USB pen drive by putting new games on it to see if the PSMini would boot (I had this error, the PSMini shut it down when I plugged the pen it, but without it boots fine with the default games), so a recover is probably out of question. Downloading a save is crappy, because I did many sides, but I was missing a good amount of stuff which I was trying to complete as well, so finding a save that fits this, even partially, it's not easy....and also if you download a parial save (I saw there are some of them on gamefaqs) good luck on understanding what the user did and what he skipped.

Probably the next year or so I'll try to restart the game again, this time on PC using an emulator, but only thinking about restarting it now from zero makes me vomit, with unskippable cutscenes, items I got from quests etc.
