DA does look fucking ugly. Hopefully by the final release they crank up the eyeorgasm, because face it, this thing has nothing else going for it.

It's almost as if we live in a world where some sort of world-wide communications medium allows slang to extend further than single nations.

Why vista minimal requirement of gf card is so much bigger, shouldn't it be the same?

Probably because everything on this shit "OS" will run slower than on XP using the same or even slightly better hardware , so they needed an extra edge.

I wonder if they upped the disk space to deter torrenters. DA:O is not using any sort of intrusive DRM or something.

Minimum requirements for both operating systems seem about the same. Vista needs more RAM since it's a 64bit OS (I know a 32bit version is out there); a 64bit OS has a bigger memory footprint than a 32bit OS, even when running the same applications. CPU differences are minimal and understandable seeing that Vista is a "heavier" OS. In the GPU area, a x850 is actually much faster than a x1550, so this seems fuck up; the only thing that would warrant a GPU difference is if they account for DX10 (in this case the Vista requirements would have to be a bit higher), but I don't think the game uses DX10 so the recommended cards look alright.

And does it matter whether it is 2 gigs or twenty? It takes the same amount of space on your HD and otherwise only prolongs the download by 2-4 days.
Pretty sure it's the same reason why game sizes have increased exponetially for the last 25 years: <s>lazyness</s> technical advancement.
And from general internet buzz and personal experience I'd rather say that intrusive DRM incites torrenters instead of deterring them (but I don't want to start another pointless debate about that ;)).

That's all i need to know. I have no interest in spending upwards of a $1000 just to play any game on the PC.

PC is only worthwhile because of the internet. Otherwise, USELESS.

Shut up Volourn. Nobody likes you. A $500 PC plays that game just fine (going by the recommended specifications).
