  1. Good gaming channels on Youtube?

A lot of this is particular to modern, post-1980s Batman. Previous to that, Batman killing the Joker was never a debate because the Joker wasn't a mass serial killer (nor was any other Batman villain), just a sort of belligerent prankster, and the tone was more in line with classical...
  2. Fallout Playing Fallout 1 for the first time

This is how I read it. What the tribals think of as magic could very well be signs of further mutation in some people resulting in psychic abilities and Hakunin is projecting himself to you with those abilities. Aside from that, Fallout 2 definitely feels like the team on the game testing the...
  3. Good gaming channels on Youtube?

I seem to remember him crapping all over Stalker because the vanilla version was buggy and he was too stuck up to just install some patches.
  4. KickStarter Free Stars: Children of Infinity - upcoming Star Control 2 sequel from Fred Ford's Pistol Shrimp Games - Kickstarter Live

I was going to say Floyd must surely be a reference to Planetfall.
  5. Cain on Games - Tim Cain's new YouTube channel

That reminds me of Abrams's Superman script that didn't get made, in which Krypton never exploded, Jor-El is its king, Superman is the subject of a prophecy, and Lex Luthor is a CIA agent who turns out to be an undercover Kryptonian working for the bad guys who gets into a Matrix-style...
  6. KickStarter System Shock 1 Remake by Nightdive Studios

I just want to know if Diego in the remake still has the audio log in which he says "investigate my butt!"?
  7. Cain on Games - Tim Cain's new YouTube channel

Tim is a corporation's dream of an IP creator. Happy to carry water for whoever buys it out later, sticks up for later writers' choices, never demands credit or royalties. Just happy to be associated with it.
  8. Good gaming channels on Youtube?

This guy might have come up before. I forget. He reviews classic space games. His voice kind of reminds me of Pete Puma.
  9. Incline Okay let's be real here... Which games can never be RPGs?

"In Pac-Man, you play the role of Pac-Man, a giant yellow mouth that consumes everything in his path as he's chased by four ghosts..."
  10. Why is game development so ineffective?

Declining work ethic is a real thing. I don't work in computers, but the young employees coming in are lazy as hell. And I'm saying that as a classic "just do the bare minimum" lazy guy, but at least I do the bare minimum. These kids are doing well below that and then whining about having too...
  11. The Crimson Diamond - inspired by The Colonel's Bequest

Yeah, I was going to say that I played all those Sierra games and the dithering was really obvious on my monitor. They were doing it to create extra shading in their images, but it certainly didn't get blurred into a solid image. If it had, I would have worried something was wrong with my monitor.
  12. Emulation central - recommendations in 1st post

Last I heard, BlueMSX is still the main one and is fairly intuitive to use. Also can be used to emulate Colecovision and Sega SG-1000, and there's a Retroarch core if you prefer that.
  13. Best console games of the last two decades?

The Mark of Kri is a pretty good PS2 third-person action game with a striking art style. It's like if Disney did Conan, but not for kids, just the clean animated art. You're still snapping guys necks and impaling stuff everywhere. A lot of the Sega games of the period for PS2 and Xbox were at...
  14. Games you've changed your mind about

I was pretty "eh" about Tomb Raider back in the 90s, but I think when I replayed it a few years ago it clicked as I realized it's basically like Prince of Persia done in 3D. It's meant for a deliberate pace as you take time to observe what you need to do and then go about carefully setting up...
  15. Good gaming channels on Youtube?

Of the "let's go through every game for a platform" projects I've encountered, this is probably my favorite. Going through the entire Famicom library. Not as joyless as the Chrontendo guy and not a Nintendo worshipping dork like Jeremy Parish.
