Senua's Saga: Hellblade II - coming May 21

Annnnd the previous game's writer/director and studio founder apparently departed quietly YEARS ago. Clearly some obfuscation going on, as that news only came out today. I'm sure we're looking at yet another Xbox studios banger.

    Control has a crouch button.

What drove BG3's success, game mechanics or emotional engagement?

Well they're working on it now. Brace yourself for the horror.

Mass Effect New Mass Effect confirmed

This is hilarious, but I feel the need to point out the PC version overhauled the inventory screens, elevating them from atrocious to merely terrible (the underlying loot/equipment systems are themselves quite bad so what can you do).

Anime STALKER trilogy on consoles - it's real

Has been for many years... god I hate tacticoomers.

    Helldivers 2

Went poking around their site, didn't see any mention of diversity or ESG whatsoever. No dev team pics looking like a freakshow. Feel like that's pretty rare these days. Probably gonna pick this up to support these guys, they seem like they deserve it.

    The PS5 and Xbox 2 thread - it's happening

So far this gen Sony is even further ahead. PS4 120 mil, Xbone 60 mil. PS5 50 mil, Xbox Series 20 mil. I think they also announced recently the PS5 is just as successful as the PS4 was, after being out for the same amount of time. I agree this gen sucks but I'm not sure it cost Sony anything to...

    Screenshot thread

I have countless issues with this game but one of the biggest is the stupid fucking D-pad UI that doesn't rearrange for KBM users.

    Helldivers 2

So what, it's basically a Starship Troopers game. It's supposed to sound cheesy.

    Immersive Sims

Just played some of the demo and you are 100% correct and probably even a little too generous in your assessment. I'd say it's the indie immersive sim version of The Day Before, except it doesn't make sense to be a cash grab because there's no cash to grab in the indie immersive sim market. That...

Are we at post-modern gaming yet?

I remember back when the Mass Effect trilogy was ongoing it blew my mind. Whatever criticisms you can level at the games now, it was unbelievable to have a trilogy of three massive RPGs with a shared hero, decisions transfering game to game including major character deaths, huge scope and cast...

    Immersive Sims

I'm so desperate for good immersive sims and old-school shooters that I give a lot of indie jank a pass, but this looks like one hell of an ugly, AI generated asset flip.

    GOG.com

I buy new games on Steam because I know they'll be patched/maintained. I buy old games on GOG and save the installers, simple as. Seems to be the case. Out of my entire GOG library, the oldest releases are the best. They gave up on providing all those extra goodies ages ago. You can disable...
