  1. How good will Oblivion be in terms of roleplaying?

Without rifling through the miles of banter I've missed from you bitches, I'll just answer in a general manner: It all d3p3nds on your d3finition of 'role-playing' you have in your little cranial cavities........ If you mean skills, stats and role-playing conventions, prepare to be deeply...
  2. A great example of why TES matters

It's coming sooner than you think. Read the headlines after the release of TES IV: Fallout: The Next Generation Featuring in game VO's from Patrick Stewart and narrated by Leonard Nemoy with the special musical voice talents of William Shatner singing "Rocket Man" for the title song...
  3. How do you make a CRPG that rewards roleplayers?

Daggerfall did all of those things quite well too. I never had two characters even remotely alike at the end of DF. Morrowind started the downward spiral towards Munchkin Land with it's 5x multipliers, trainers and stuff. You really had to work your ass off in DF just to stay alive...
  4. perhaps you would like some daggerfall?

The first time I heard that walking through the city/state of Daggerfall at night, it literally made the hair on my neck stand up. The only thing in Morrowind that was even remotely that scary was the sixth house bases with all those naked dark elves running around in the dark.
  5. A great example of why TES matters

 Bwahaha! You're positively scintillating, m8!
  6. Thank you, Codex.

With as many developer posts as they get here, I'd say someone's standing up and taking notice.
  7. Oblivion: What Will Be Missing?

Paranoia. Love that stuff! "Total paranoia is total awareness." Paraphrased: If you're always paranoid, nothing will ever catch you unawares. ;)
  8. A great example of why TES matters

I also agree with everything on your list except the above item TF. Label me an idiot but I kind of like the Greco/Roman flavor of the Imperials. So long as they don't tip the scales by making everything parallel real world history or *shudders* LOR clichés, I'm okay with it.
  9. Thank you, Codex.

Mech, as in fanboy Mech of Canada from ESF? Lol, they'll just let anyone post here, won't they? :D Make no mistake. If you're expecting Oblivion to be a real RPG, it's sure to disappoint. If however, you're expecting an 'action RPG' with a dumbed down skill and character development system...
  10. perhaps you would like some daggerfall?

That's okay; they dumbed it down to the level of Dr. Seuss for the casual gamer and the attentively challenged in Morrowind. Now the plot is a simplistic, clichéd 'save the world' formula plot. How so? Morrowind really wasn't that much an improvement. NPC's would follow you at times...
  11. Oblivion skill list?

MSFD, has the name of the skill with axe and maces in it been changed yet or are you still going with "blunt weapon" skill?
  12. Oblivion skill list?

  13. A great example of why TES matters

It is and I agree. I feel like it's mine personally. That's why I'm very defensive of it and care so much for its future. At the risk of sounding maudlin, I am a TES fan and I love Elder Scrolls. There is no CRPG world which has meant so much to me.
  14. Oblivion skill list?

Indeed. Not enough detail by far. You're right it does suck and I'm saying that because I DO love Elder Scrolls games. For us to have gone from Daggerfall to this is simply deplorable. :(
  15. I'm looking forward to Oblivion.

If they're going to diss it then I'm with ya, they should leave it alone but hey, give 'em a chance. If it sucks, don't buy it and don't play it. Its fate will be sealed as you stated earlier. With the meager table scraps of good RPGs for the PC out there, I'm willing to give anyone a shot...
