4X The Unsurpassed Brian Reynolds' Alpha Centauri thread

Looks like the kind of thing stamped in red ink on product info leaflets in Chinese imports.

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Space Marines vs Tyranids turn-based strategy

I have TW Warhammer 1 and 2 because they were cheap and had a lot of stuff. I will learn and play them, maybe after I finish POE1. Glad I held off on TW:WH3. Should I learn on TW Medieval 2 first? I have a habit of buying TW games and never playing them.

Talking about 3? What's wrong with it? I have 1 and 2, thought they were stable?

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Space Marines vs Tyranids turn-based strategy

Yes kill everything. I am playing Battlefleet Gothic Armada again at the moment. At some point I will get back to Gladius. If I don't start learning Total War Warhammer instead. Too many good games. Also trying again to finish POE1 but it gets boring.

Eternity Pillars of Eternity + The White March Expansion Thread

I generally avoid torrents due to malware. Interesting that there's a Steam removal project. Thanks, bookmarked.

I will try copying the POE1 folder elsewhere just in case. Thanks Roguey. I am not sure whether that would work though. Does it work if, say, Steam is uninstalled? In the POE1 game directory there are files like steam_api.dll and SteamworksNative.dll. Not just pure Pillars stuff. I am also...

Eternity Pillars of Eternity + The White March Expansion Thread

I am trying to figure out how to protect my game from being updated before it goes live. Once it does, it's too late. I don't know how long this beta period will last/how long it's been going on already. For now I am changing its Steam property to "Only update this game when I launch it" and...

Every time? LOL. That means no other Steam game would ever be updated again. Age of Wonders 4 for instance. Or Gladius.

Eternity Pillars of Eternity + The White March Expansion Thread

Does anyone here have any Steam-fu on how to protect your games from automatic updates? I am reading this Reddit thread about how to do it, but get stuck on things like "add the launcher executable as a non-steam game".

I would be tempted to buy a copy off GOG that Steam can't break, but they still want $40 for the thing.

I really hope this does not break the IE Mod, since Steam does not let you opt out of the patch. I am playing POE1 right now, attempting to finish it with IE Mod after giving up years ago on the original game. I will really be pissed if they push this patch and it breaks IE Mod and kills my...

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War - turn-based 4X from Slitherine

Umbras are flyers, like those wasps. That means if you run in and snatch control of a special resource tile and run away, they can't snatch it back, since flyers can't take control of a hex. This means you can use them to shield you from enemies while guarding the resource hexes your scouts...

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War - turn-based 4X from Slitherine

Note that the patch includes a new free Tyranid unit, a transport, in case you are wondering why there isn't one in the list of DLC units. Oops I see Lacrymas mentioned that, didn't see it.

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War - turn-based 4X from Slitherine

Cities have good firepower and units inside their walls get good defense bonuses especially infantry. They are also concealed until they fire. In a pinch a mangled unit can go inside the fortress to heal safely. A defended city can likely hold off any early schenanigans from the AI.
