  1. LARPing and cRPG mechanics - Discuss!!

If the NPCs do not appreciate your vast collection of hats is that because you're larping or because they are uncomfortable bringing it up? If I walked into someone's house and it was filled with every hat in existence I would probably just smile and find an excuse to leave. Seems like they...
  2. Game News Bethesda: Making Games for the PC Gamers

Can't wait for the optimization DLC!! Maybe my horse dick mod will stop locking up.
  3. AoD December update

What is the difference between interactive fiction, text adventure, and rpg? At first I wasn't that concerned but its starting to sound like the mission statement might have gotten the best of them. Interesting concept or fun game?
  4. Game News Next Dragon Age Will Draw From Skyrim

You think maybe it's the crafting system? The star gazing skill maps? What else do they have? Maybe they noticed that most people aren't gay.
  5. Game News Next Dragon Age Will Draw From Skyrim

That's good news. They should steal some game mechanics while they are at it. Maybe they can learn. In any case it doesnt bode well for the storyfags. That's a plus.
  6. Game News The Witcher 2: BitTorrent Collector's Edition now only $1230

Why should a pirate pay more then sticker price for the game he steals? Because it's a crime? Last time I looked it was law enforcement that prosecuted crimes not cooperations. Can a store charge a shop lifter a penalty (beyond the price of goods taken) for the stolen goods? The shopkeeper...
  7. BROS SO IT IS GENERALLY AGREED

So add some. Adding is good. Layer the mechanics. Add depth. The problem arises when you replace the dungeon crawl aspects (character progression, combat tactics, and equipment upgrades) that have defined the genre for its entire history with interactive fiction and adventure game...
  8. Editorial Why so many developers close their doors

They should get their money back. That publisher is a jerk.
  9. Popular Rpgs that you tried but never was able to finish?

Rarely do I leave one of these without completing everything there is to do. Even more rare to abandon one entirely. However... Oblivion- would have finisheded if the level scaling were less in your face. Still made it 90%. Planescape: Torment- Gave up when I realized it was a...
  10. Dragon Wars

The Bard's Tale is now available on iTunes.
  11. Improving Skyrim / Recommended Mods thread (Mostly about Requiem)

I would like a mod that removes the compass completely and makes you relie on maps. I would like a character sheet that puts all your skills and modifiers in front of you. I would like a compendium of creatures and items you have come across with their attributes and a brief description...
  12. Skyrim Locked to Steam and Increased Landmass

So if I have Morrowind and oblivion installed can I cross over? That would be neat.
  13. Skyrim is worse than Oblivion in every way

What's really going on here: http://youtu.be/qvE5SLssRa8
  14. Skyrim gameplay stream impressions.

I'm looking forward to this. I have two hopes: 1) level scaling is not as obvious 2) quest compass is optional Ok three... 3) nix the teleportation I also hope the game is more like Morrowind and less like Daggerfall. Dare to dream.
