  1. Decline What's up with these characteristically weak classes nowadays?

Immediately in Wrath character creation you are faced with 12 races and 25 base classes. At level 3, which is still very early game, each base class then chooses from 7 archetypes. Then there are another 10 or so prestige classes, then 10 mythic paths. And aside from mythics they can all...
  2. Indie Archaelund: RPG that combines 1st-person exploration with 3rd-person TB combat - now available on Early Access

So I've been singing praises for a few pages (and I fully admit that I'm biased or at least favorably disposed towards this studio), but I will flag a budding but serious concern. The enemy AI and pathfinding are not strong enough. For instance, melee enemies always charge rather than manage...
  3. Indie Archaelund: RPG that combines 1st-person exploration with 3rd-person TB combat - now available on Early Access

Yeah so far the game feels more like a refreshing and solid oldschool experience than a big innovator. That said, rehabbing the 1st+3rd person combo, which to my knowledge has not been tried in years, is if not an innovation at least a bold move. And when the level cap is raised I predict the...
  4. Weapon and shield, One two-handed weapon, or dual-wielded weapons?

They were both swinging at eachother's swords a lot of the time, which in a choreographed swordfight is a leading indicator of fake and gay. The pervasive problem of hema is that it's populated by nerds and losers, not scumbags and jocks. Basically you've got the somatotypes and mental...
  5. Why have cRPG's died in the mid 2000's? 2024 edition

Seems like flagrantly self-serving commentary from Soyer. lol at demanding a giant budget before he'll deign to consider another poe installment.
  6. Weapon and shield, One two-handed weapon, or dual-wielded weapons?

This is where dual hatchets and single wield dagger come in.
  7. Indie Archaelund: RPG that combines 1st-person exploration with 3rd-person TB combat - now available on Early Access

That's a lot of views. Happy to see some buzz building but I hope the dev is ready for a boatload of negativity about time til full release. If sales are strong enough, hiring help to expedite is an idea.
  8. Weapon and shield, One two-handed weapon, or dual-wielded weapons?

Pillars games (accuracy bonus), pathfinder games (feats and prestige class), bg3 (fighting style). Off the top of my head. You're really not familiar with these games? These are typically not powerful bonuses though. It's basically a meme build.
  9. Weapon and shield, One two-handed weapon, or dual-wielded weapons?

Well fencing/duelist is a style i like using on my characters. You should have included it as an option.
  10. Weapon and shield, One two-handed weapon, or dual-wielded weapons?

In the ttrpg systems I'm familiar with dueling style can't access power attacks. The equivalent would be a precise thrust, which then explodes the enemy into gory chunks. I'm not sure that pre-renaissance medieval combat had this kind of dueling style. It presumably evolves for gentlemanly...
  11. Weapon and shield, One two-handed weapon, or dual-wielded weapons?

In fencing you turn your body sideways to present less target area and increase reach.
  12. Indie Archaelund: RPG that combines 1st-person exploration with 3rd-person TB combat - now available on Early Access

Minotaurs? Tbf the horny level of this game is thankfully low. I encountered a greenskin chick with sideboob on display who seemed down (she was playing a little hard to get), and there was a female dockhand who, I'm speculating, would be a handful in the sack. Mostly it's examining uncanny NPC...
