Just don't buy early access games. I thought everybody learned this lesson years ago?

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition - Obsidian's first-person sci-fi RPG set in a corporate space colony

Do you? In game you don't get anything you wouldn't get otherwise and there's nothing in the end credits saying you can't rest your whole life chilling in Byzantium as the hero who saved the colony afaik. It really, really isn't if you take into account just how stupid the board is portrayed as...

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition - Obsidian's first-person sci-fi RPG set in a corporate space colony

Perhaps it's me but setting yourself up for a cozy life is kinda what most endings in these games end up doing unless it's a fail state or a downright bad ending, it's not like you end up in extreme poverty or anything if you don't go for the Board. When the system you're integrating yourself in...

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition - Obsidian's first-person sci-fi RPG set in a corporate space colony

I know about the ending cutscenes, that doesn't change the fact that the system is doomed unless somebody fixes the soil situation -- which afaik this doesn't happen if you side with the board -- and that the board itself is INSUFFERABLE during your entire playthrough even if you side with them...

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition - Obsidian's first-person sci-fi RPG set in a corporate space colony

I'm not sure it was an agenda being pushed so much as just the writers not really wanting to develop the Board/the alternative route all that much and just rather prefer spend their time making "funny" dumb NPCs instead. Same thing happened in the DLCs if I'm not remembering wrong.

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition - Obsidian's first-person sci-fi RPG set in a corporate space colony

I've said this before but this doesn't work for The Board. The appeal of an evil or selfish playthrough like that is to rule either by yourself or amongst the best; to cast the plebians down to the pits where they belong and pound them with an iron fist as you see fit. You don't get this with...

    Dota 2 Discussion (~Boston Majors & Road to TI7~)

it was yesteday and uh. well, it's just all cosmetics lmao. looks like we won't be getting the new hero or new gameplay until after this event ends which means at least 4 more months now. i thought the whole point of not being tied to TI anymore was so they wouldn't have to delay content like this?

Incline Disco Elysium - The Final Cut - a hardboiled cop show isometric RPG

I don't think he meant it because the story just had them stomped out months (or years?) after conception. But what is there does support the theory that the pale can be stopped or delayed with the hope it brings, the same way the enthusiasm the ravers exude would do so too. This is straight up...

Pentiment - Josh Sawyer's historical mystery narrative-driven game set in 16th century Bavaria

Pretty good video. I particularly enjoyed the part where they go over the animation and artstyle, it shine light upon some things that I noticed before and didn't think about at the time (like why art from that time looks the way it does) and the way they went over animating this selling the...

Incline Disco Elysium - The Final Cut - a hardboiled cop show isometric RPG

I'm not too sure about that, for me it feels like moralism is by far the political faction that was portrayed in the the worst light through the game. While every other of the 3 political thoughts seem to be made in a jokey fashion, even if dressed in sad or pathetic colors, the moralist thought...

The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition - Obsidian's first-person sci-fi RPG set in a corporate space colony

Would more money even help here? I remember watching interviews with Cain and Boyarsky years ago and it always sounded like it was more of an issue of time rather than budget. Sure the AA budget affected their mentality on how big the game should be, but there seemed to be just a bunch of stuff...

Red Dead Redemption 2 - now available on PC

The problem with RDR2's story isn't the writing itself, it is pretty decent, the topics it covers are interesting, and if you only focus on the text what's there delivers. The real problem is that it's stretched way, wayy too thin. Following a gang of misfits while seeing how they fall apart and...

DOOM Eternal - the sequel to the 2016 reboot - now with The Ancient Gods DLC

Personally I found the base game just a bit too easy, with only the later half of the base game giving a challenge so I loved the DLCs. Felt like a proper ramp up in difficulty even if gimmicky at parts. Garbage final boss though.

They do that alongside raising the cap.
