  1. How much do you 'sperg / OCD out in CRPG's?

I used to be compulsive about exploring the fog. I destroyed whole forests to reach the dark corners in AoE2. Morrowind will cure you of that. Even if you fly over the map like a scanning cursor, you'll still miss bits.
  2. Game News Age of Decadence February Update

I haven't played the game, because it doesn't exist yet. As for those 60,000, I was one of them. They were voting for an ideal that you haven't yet delivered. Some people actually like walking around the game world. And they don't want CnC so intrusive that you have to have a walkthrough in...
  3. Game News Age of Decadence February Update

That's rubbish. You tried to make a game that eliminates the stuff you don't like, and accentuates the stuff you do like. So far it hasn't worked. I would suggest that you make a few compromises in order to make a playable game.
  4. Game News Age of Decadence February Update

The danger is that they tell us so much about the game that by the time it's released we've lost interest in it. I tried the last demo, but it was virtually unplayable. VD seems to be more interested in making a concept (the perfect rpg), than making an enjoyable game.
  5. Editorial Feargus Urquhart and Ray Muzyka's DICE 2013 Panel: The Future of the RPG Genre

Ray Muzyka talking about ways to "monetize" the player, is one of the ugliest things I've ever heard. Sure, it's their job to sell the games they produce, but you don't do it by telling the player that he's just a dollar sign to you.
  6. Information Vote on how Chris Avellone will LP Arcanum!

Absolutely Not! I want him to play it without any external influences. Do you think he should play it with Drog's patch?
  7. RPG Codex Top 50 cRPGs - Retards who cannot read and Discussion thread

According to Warren Spector, Deus Ex is not an RPG, it's an Immersive Sim.o_O

When do I get my goodies?
  9. Game News Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Trailer Released

Himmy's right, there is no difference between the generations. What difference does it make wether you play it on PC, ipad, tablet or mobile? Heck, even back in the day, only a small percentage of kids played RPG's. Most played stuff like Mario or the sims.
  10. Community A Codexian Fund-raiser

How do I know you won't spend it on gold taps and hookers?
  11. Baldur's Gate Beamdog's Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 Enhanced Editions

Yes you can, but if you call it BG3 you will make a lot more money. There is absolutely no reason why you should continue the Baalspawn saga when there are a million other possible stories with a connection to Baldurs Gate.
  12. RPGs with actual Choices and Consequences

I wish that you C&C retards would just fuck off. There has NEVER been a game that conforms to your ideals, and hopefully there never will be, because it would be unplayable.
  13. Baldur's Gate Beamdog's Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 Enhanced Editions

It's astonishing to me that BG3 never got made. Everytime a possibility of BG3 being made is mooted on the internet it generates a megathread like this one. Whoever owns the rights, for fucks sake just get together and make yourselves a fortune.
  14. [Poll] How do you play games w/ skill trees and non transparent mechanics ? Blind or spoiled?

Since I'm a larper, I usually go with the build that suits my personality and stick with that. I'm not interested in what the internet says is the best build. If I don't want to do alchemy or crafting or whatever, I won't do it. If I don't want to play as an Orc, then I won't.
