  1. storm of zehir worth?

The user defined module that did something with all the mechanics in SoZ was the treasure of white plume mountain. Really good module that.
  2. Post some TBS with non-shit, non-retarded AI?

The experience from chess and the like is actually that even quite competent AI's are so fundamentally inhuman that they're still somewhat annoying to play. You end up facing something which is obviously making non trivial mistakes but more than compensating with massive strengths in other...
  3. Completed Everlasting Summer - Soviet Waifus, It's Heaven [NSFW]

Russian history is not calculated to produce cheerful literature!
  4. Most complex and difficult combat: Blackguards or D:OS?

Is blackguards combat actually complex in an interesting way though? I really wasn't sure when I played it.
  5. Prosper I love archery in RPGs, here's my top 10 (sort of).

I actually have a soft spot for going nearly all archery based in NWN2. Load up on various spells/summons to slow people down and it can work quite nicely. Arcane Archer, Druid (with zen archery), a pure mage and some sort of eldrich knight/bladesinger loaded up with self protection spells as a...
  6. Simple Storm of Zehir question

Fundamentally not really hugely story driven. Have to enjoy the mechanics/seeing how your chosen party works in combat. (Which is mostly a bit easy although the final battle is properly rough.). I'm vaguely fond of it more for how it really helped expand what the mods could do. Proper...
  7. The Codex of Roguelikes

Well its certainly very different from the original, long distant beginnings as a loopily unbalanced Zangband variant ;) (Which then evolved rather fast itself.). Doubt you meant that of course :)
  8. Game News King's Bounty: Darkside released on Steam Early Access

Well runemages really were getting more than a bit silly in WotN :) No Paladins either I guess. Will be most confusing! Sounds like it might be interesting if they do a decent job with it, which isn't guaranteed.
  9. Crispy™ Let's run rings around Blood Bowl F13 Season 8 - Three Codexers in Play Offs

I do have to wonder how anyone stays sane with ag2 ball carriers :)
  10. Crispy™ Let's run rings around Blood Bowl F13 Season 8 - Three Codexers in Play Offs

Those rerolls aren't bloat. Ok, when things go well for a bash style team you often won't need more than a couple a half, but 5 is probably about right overall. The assistant coaches/cheerleaders I grant you :)
  11. Crispy™ Let's run rings around Blood Bowl F13 Season 8 - Three Codexers in Play Offs

A tiny bit single minded perhaps :) Awfully solid looking though. A good amount of rerolls, reasonably sized squad etc.
  12. "You kill the wild dog and found 2 sliced apples"

You do have to be rather careful about this in some genres. Some of the later versions of Zangand decided to give monsters themed item drops and all it really did was make huge swathes of monsters even less worth killing. Then they did themed dungeons so you just had chunks of dungeon no one...
  13. Really playing through NWN2 for the first time...

The crafting really could go way over the top. Especially the +several million d6 elemental damage stuff. Better without it really but I suppose people expect it nowadays and you can always just ignore it/stay moderate. Planning to try SoZ next? That's very different all round. Think the legacy...
  14. Runemaster, Norse-themed randomized sandbox tactical RPG from Paradox - CANCELLED

Anything 'consoleish' surely most likely to be those steam box things? If they're targeting Linux anyway they'll be doing those too, pretty well automatically. Actually those will probably make EUIV/CKII 'console' games ;)
  15. Game News Paradox announces Runemaster, a Norse-themed turn-based RPG

Well KB does feature a big RPG style element in the levelling of your characters/pet dragon. It makes a huge difference in how the battles play out. Much more than a lot of RPG things. So I dunno. Not that I care - if this is at all like KB and any good then I'll be rather happy :) Or just good...
