X-COM XCOM 2 + War of the Chosen Expansion Thread

Ok, the LOS in this game is officially fucking retarded. I had a solder in a forward position after dropping 3 advent -- on my turn, with no enemies visible, I move a solder to a spot 2 squares BEHIND him, in such a way that this soldier would have no additional line of sight. The move...

X-COM XCOM 2 + War of the Chosen Expansion Thread

I'm beginning to rethink legend + ironman for a first playthrough... the combat is totally manageable, but I've had a couple mission fails over turn limits on objectives, including one that cost me my entire squad when they and the VIP were 1 turn away from the evac point. I thoroughly enjoy...

Yeah, I can't play without Ironman, even when it's frustrating; in EU/EW (and the original, in some ways), too much success early on ramps your capabilities up too quickly, and then you're steamrolling the later content, which is boring as fuck.

Legend + Ironman... bets on how many restarts it takes me to drop to Commander?

    Fallout Fallout 4 Thread

Or maybe achievements are buggy -- I never got the "enter the wasteland" achievement, even though I've played long past the intro.

Fallout 4 Pre-Release Discussion [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

Are you fucking kidding me? To be generous, they make successful casual multiplayer games for people who don't want to get their feelings hurt, and they make Starcraft, which peaked in 1998. If you've ever tried to sit through one of their single-player campaigns, their writing is absolutely...

Fallout 4 Pre-Release Discussion [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

Well, I agree that shooters should be played at 60 FPS at the very least. I just assumed that my PC would have some difficulty running F4 beyond medium settings, but given that my CPU and GPU are both a couple tiers above that i3 and 750ti, I'm not as concerned. This doesn't answer your CPU...

Fallout 4 Pre-Release Discussion [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

Wow, seriously? I'm so used to Bethesda games being woefully optimized that I assumed the trend would continue. If may look like shit, but at least it won't run like it too.

Divinity Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition

My brother and I are up to 22 hours in Cyseal so far and we haven't even approached Braccus yet. Granted Tactician mode has padded our playtime a little, but both of us have played the game multiple times before and neither of us tend to dick around very much. It really is a fucking huge area.

Prepare for Diablo II, Warcraft III, and Starcraft Enhanced Editions

Me neither. I'll go full D2 hipster on this and say that unless they retain the breakpoints for FHR/FCR/etc, the game will be ruined. The classes were built around 25 FPS, and lord know that the casuals running Blizzard now won't appreciate how this inherently created depth in itemization.

Places your bets: Fallout 4 Metascore

Ditto. I put it in the 85-89 category for that reason -- lower than Fallout 3, but, just to add insult to injury, higher than New Vegas.

Fallout 4 Pre-Release Discussion [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

He'd be right, should the rest of the game have any depth to it. Of that, however, he will not convince me -- I've been listening to too much Fleetwood Mac lately.
