I suffered a fair bit of personal dark age in the late nineties and early 2000's
in regards to gaming in general. I do have fond memories of Sierra's hero's quest and playing Dark Sun Shattered lands back in the day. (And privateer and star control II... oh glorious days seeking loot and glory in the darkest corners of th galaxy)

A few years ago I was introduced to tabletop RPG (DnD 4e) and also started playing all the great DnD rpg's I missed in that period of time via GOG. To date I've played and passed IWD 1 and all the expansions. 2/3 of IWD2 and played 1 and a half BG2 and half of the Shadows of Amn expansion. More recently I've nearly finished my 2nd playthrough of pillars.

I dabbled for a fortnight in Nwn, but had to give it up for lack of time. I can't for the life of me stand the modern action adventure world button mashing rpgs like skyrim and its ilk.

Enjoyment of rpg's seems to lie in 65 - 35 combat to role-play for me. Combat means interesting tactical combat supported with strategic class/character building.
