  1. Final Fantasy 8 is a bad game

I've played Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 7... guess I'm missing out!
  2. Gamespy's 2006 highs and lows

Khelgar just struck me as your basic Gimle-clone (or is it Gimli?). "Arrr... aye... I must fight for me'h honor! I'm gunna bust some heads!" I only used him as a companion when I absolutely had to have him in the party. Neeshka was annoying but I had to keep her because I wasn't a thief...
  3. Fully full review of neverwinter nights 2

Yep. I can't remember exactly the sequence of dialog I did but I had first stumbled across the dragon and agreed to kill the giants. When I finally got to the Giant King he offered the belt in exchange for killing the dragon. I accepted and then the dragon comes in and they'll attack him...
  4. Fully full review of neverwinter nights 2

I just sided with the Giants to kill the Dragon... then killed the Giants.
  5. Gamespy's 2006 highs and lows

    Khelgar was awful!
  6. Good old crpg wanted - the oldschool itching

The gold box games are indeed 99% combat but I enjoyed them just the same. I thought all of them had decent story lines.
  7. Fully full review of neverwinter nights 2

What was so good about the keep? Sure, I thought it was neat as a concept but just seemed pretty bland in operation. Building wise it's not hard at all to amass the gold needed to get every improvement possible and I'm not sure how and when some of the improvements paid off. (Keep in mind...
  8. Pirating does not pay, kids (warning: boring story)

I never understood pirating games. They really don't cost THAT much... but I guess my opinion is colored by the fact that I'm horrible with computers and buy -- at most -- three to five games a year.
  9. NWN2 had the best story in gaming this year...

Has anyone played the game picking all of the 'evil/asshole' dialog choices? If you still end up being a Knight and getting a keep after that it seems extremely forced. Then again, I guess it's so integral to the story they wouldn't let you deviate from it. I liked the fact that you could...
  10. NWN2 had the best story in gaming this year...

I honestly couldn't follow the story of NWN2 short of the evil bad guy is coming back to destroy everyone. There was just waaaaaaaaay too much story exposition at every turn that I had to click past it.
  11. Fully full review of neverwinter nights 2

Agree with most of your points with a few exceptions: * I don't think it's the cut scenes themselves that irk me just the -- as you point out -- copious amounts of dialog. I want to read it and try to understand the story... but damn... at a certain point I just say fuck it and click past...
  12. My first impressions of NWN2

    No he's just annoyingly stand-offish.
  13. Mine is longer than yours...

There was an Ultima Collection on cd that came out several years ago that had everything up to U8 on it. I had it but probably tossed it. I'm not one for saving things past 2-3 years.
  14. Mine is longer than yours...

Actually since you have the revised action oriented "The Bard's Tale" you should also have the three original Bard's Tale games -- at least mine came with them.
  15. Ultima VII

Although I did enjoy Ultima VII the combat system never impressed me. It's pretty hard to die in any situation so your choice of weapon is fairly irrelevant. You basically hit 'c' for combat mode and your party kicks the crap out of the monsters.
