Hype will always be the same, and it's near pointless to criticise or dissect these quotations. But it is genuinely puzzling, and even the most cynical person can't avoid an open-mouthed expression sometimes, when you consider the fact that every possibility of a critical note is just completely absent. Even if you're going to fellate Bethesda, surely it's not too much to ask to say something along the lines of: "Well, this all sounds pretty cool. We really hope the majority of this will make it into the final game, because Oblivion was a tad disappointing in that respect. Anyway, Skyrim looks totally awesome so far, Bethesda are the Gods of gaming and holy fuck dragons!!!"
They can't even manage that. Not even the slightest hint of doubt, not even anything remotely resembling a question. I mean, fuck. The guy who made a joke about horse armour at the E3 hasn't been found at the bottom of the sea with concrete shoes yet. Simply expressing the remote possibility that all the pre-release promised awesomeness might not necessarily make it into the game is not going to hurt you or your family.
