Trash
Pointing and laughing.
After having played the COD: Black Ops free multiplayer on steam over the weekend (mostly with a rl buddy, which puzzlingly and slightly worryingly enough made stabbing and fragging all the more fun) I realised two things. One, I crave another multiplayer shooter. Two, I find these constricted multiplayer maps of that latest COD lame as hell. So, what game should I pick?
COD: MW3 will be out soonish and it looks, well, just like the previous CODS. I have no doubt that mp will have its merits but the lame level design from Black Ops and the habit of every COD to have close constricted maps turns me off. Not to mention the gargantuan amount of 12 year old bunny hopping add tards that will no doubt flock there to mock me.
Battlefield 3 looks like it should be fun. Large open levels to bring mayhem to, vehicles to blow up and blow shit up with, 64 players and all the other hallmarks of the Battlefield franchise. Then there is Origin however which apart from deleting all my porn is also going to send it straight to the EA mainframe for analysis. That's scary and bad and scary. Not to mention that apparantly vehicles heal themselves. What the fuck?
Red Orchestra Heroes of Stalingrad should be the ELITE HARDCORE one to look out for. With ironsights the only way to hit a barn, bullets being rather lethal and cover mechanics. Wait, what? Well, perhaps apart from that it does look and sound rather brilliant on paper. Especially considering its pedigree. Then again, the practice might be a bit off. From the beta it seems maps are rather smaller than anticipated, rounds are fast, furious, over in moments and a bit more arcadey than expected and somehow a lot of former fans seem a bit disappointed with it all. Then again, they seem a grumpy lot.
What to do? What to do? Am I missing a game?
