More Civilization in 2008

<p><a href="http://www.take2games.com/" target="_blank" title="Take 2">Take Two Interactive's</a> <a href="http://ir.take2games.com/ReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=231968" target="_blank" title="numbers hurt head">Fiscal 2006 Financial Results Report</a> has one interesting tidbit regarding the <a href="http://www.civilization.com/" target="_blank" title="Civilization">Civilization</a> franchise:</p><blockquote><p>In addition to the licensed 2K Sports lineup, starting in 2008, 2K will have new content based on its Civilization franchise and other products, including both original intellectual property and third-party titles. </p></blockquote><p>It's unknown at this time whether it refers to Civilization V, another Civ IV expansion, or something else (another CivCity, perhaps).

Hope its not another CivCity. Actually, I hope its not another expansion for Civ IV either, but all odds point to that. How many expansions did Civ III have? 2 or 3?

One major difference is that they released a multiplayer expansion (Play the World) for Civ III that is unnecessary for Civ IV thanks to built in multipalyer

Firaxis (or Take Two nowdays) devs have already hinted that they are working on a new expansion but that release date is so far off that it's hard to believe it would be the expansion that they are talking about, unless they are finally making an expansion that really has a lot of new stuff.
