Wait, was the Thanksgiving quest a metaphor for Starfield's development? Is that why the vindaloo made me take health damage?

Doom DLC is pretty good, although it means that the player character is now the Doom Marine in addition to simultaneously being the CEO of Ryujin, the leader of the Crimson Fleet, the hero of Kvatch...

Members of your party threatening to leave based on your choices in Shattered Space is honestly pretty cool

I actually played through Starfield last year by taking a lot of breaks in between (I gave it a 5/10 in the thread about games finished in 2024). I downloaded the DLC just for the lulz. I didn't expect much based on Metacritic scores but still wanted to give it some chance. After finishing the first story mission and arriving to the first planet, I exited the game without ever wanting to play it again. It seemed about as interesting as Mothership Zeta for Fallout 3, which was already pretty bad at the time. This is 15 years later. Holy shit.

Here are the 2024 top sellers on Steam grouped by revenue. Starfield isn't even on the list whereas Fallout 4, Fallout 76 and Elder Scrolls Online still are. And Starfield had a DLC this year. :)
Completely destroys the moronic "Starfield did not sold well on steam because its on game pass" narrative that some retards have. All their early games (and ESO) are on gamepass and they are still top sellers on the list.
"But muh price, older games are cheaper". My brother in Christ, Starfield have already been heavily discounted at 40%. People would take the deal if the game was worth playing.

Creation club sales are part of that. I'm assuming there's little to no CC for Shartfield, because nobody would buy it.

"Starfield" is a bonus campaign mode that you get for free when you buy the Creation Kit for $69.99

The value proposition is that you're paying for a sci-fi RPG Maker. All the shitty questlines are just a tech demo for what you can achieve in the engine

A quick glance tells me that Skyrim Special Edition has a 24 hour peak that is just over five and a half times higher than that of Starfield, and just over six times if you also include the base Skyrim.

An Ultima Underworld mod for Starfield would be sick. Starting in a Daggerfall-style dungeon and trying to fight to reach the surface and get to your ship would be really cool. You don't even need new assets. What's in the game is fine, it's just arranged in a profoundly stupid manner
