Everyone has their knowledge base from which to speak on, and also where people are out of their depth; case in point Zizek whenever he talks about his notion of Buddhism.

As for populist speakers, I liked Jonathan Bowden's talks, for example his talk on cultural Marxism outshines anything I've seen from JP https://youtu.be/J92f2S3E0S8
