Tbh I don't think it would've made much difference. I know Gandalf says in the books that if he did this, he would be tempted into becoming evil, and wield terrible powers, but he and Sauron were on the same power level in Middle Earth mythology, basically minor angels both, so it's not like he had massively more latent power. cont...
